If the goal is hypertrophy, I really don't think the fact that there is less going on with the fast twitch is a reason to stop grinding out forced reps. Complete development of the muscle group includes the slow twitch fibers. There are many of us who have less fast twitch fibers in comparison to another and are actually weaker--yet look fuller, larger, and more aesthetic than our stronger friends. Personally, I can not Bench 400 pounds--but because of forced reps, negatives, reverse pyramids and a bunch of other principles (many of which stress the slow twitch fibers) I look like I can Bench 400. When you hit 50 years old and have pounded your joints for thirty of those with powerlifting, football and what I like to call body sculpting--I think there is a lot to be gained for developing both fast and slow twitch fibers.
