Article: Things You Should Know About Greens Supplements

2 GREENS MIGHT RESTORE YOUR PH BALANCE: FACT
The human body likes to maintain homeostasis. Your acid-base balance, or pH balance, is no different. What you eat may influence the body's pH. This is where green supplements can be beneficial. Grains, dairy, and protein are acidic, while green leafy vegetables are alkaline, or basic. Greens supplements are alkaline, and one of their main benefits is their ability to improve your body's acid-base balance.

Some people design entire diets solely around optimizing pH. This seems a little extreme—and is based on fluctuating research—but there is some logic behind it. An unbalanced pH may lead to decreased bone health, excessive cortisol, and slightly impaired thyroid function. So eating more alkaline foods, like fruits and vegetables, isn't a bad idea from a pH perspective.

Since greens supplements are vegetable powerhouses, it's been proposed that they're a good way to optimize your body's pH. They might actually work that way. A study published in the "Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition" found that two weeks of daily supplementation with greens led to significant improvements in urinary pH, moving subjects from an acidic pH to one considered optimal. The results from this pilot-type study suggest that a daily greens supplement may improve an acid-base balance that is out of the optimal range

This points to something I've seen disputed here often

I've recently picked up a greens supplement to supplement my veggie intake (or lack their of lol)... I'm hoping it will keep my immune system strong while push myself a little harder at the gym. I've been noticing I get sick whenever I start feeling good and step up my training.

Apple Cider Vinegar would be better used for balancing body PH levels.

I think greens supplements are best used for immune support mainly.

Vit C bruh!

Vitamin C is good but Greens+ Supplements help the gut and are good in other ways that C isn't. They're pretty good together, along with zinc and glutamine.

Lol Vit C is a staple anyways... Right now i got multi, fish oil, ginseng, ginger, vit a (beta carotene) and zinc all being stacked along with the greens lol. Basically everything but the kitchen sink.

Up your carbs maybe? In the past when my carbs dropped too low I would get sick.

In the timing section is he basically saying that you shouldn't eat any vegetables within 3 hours after you lift? Or just to not take a greens supplement? Anybody have any insight on this claim?

Vinegar is very acidic. How would it help balance PH levels (as most people are too acidic already)?

it's very acidic becoming alkaline upon digestion, that's the theory my friend

I make a kale shake every morning. (2-3 leaves of kale, chunk of ginger, whole pear/apple, whole cucumber, and a few berries for taste) As well as do my best to get as many sources of fruits and veggies in throughout the day. I train extremely hard 5 days a week. Therefore my acidic intake remains high every single day.
Would green supplements be a smart addition to my diet or am I doing enough to balance out the acidity? Is there a simple test to check as well?

Thank You

Another money spinner.
Why not just eat the real thing.

It's also possible to create your own greens powder with use of a dehydrator at home. You can then add the concentrated powder into shakes, etc. A lot of people do this. Saves a lot of money over time.
