2 grams per pound is WAY to much, you don't even need half of that
 
I think this number and other requirements variy based on genetic and training requirements. At a current intake of 4000 cal daily I generally aim for a 45/35/20 split for protein/carb/fat. After much tweeking and testing of various nutrient balancing these percentages are allowing me to gain muscle while maintaining bodtyfat at sub 7% levels while at a bodyweight of just under 200lbs.
Without the use of additional anabolics.
Try different levels and find out what works for you.
