Article: THE PALEO DIET: SO EASY A CAVEMAN COULD DO IT

I'm not quite sure if this is an actual article or what the takeaway is from this from a nutritional perspective.

The Paleo diet works and is not only suited to active individuals, but anyone really. Whole foods, minus anything inflammatory, plus high protein = one of the best diets for athletes and overall health in general. People who say that a whole foods & high protein diet is a fad, are simply ignorant. Maybe calling it 'peleo' is the fad? Athletes (or anyone) who've wanted to be healthy have eaten this way for years, not just our ancestors.

Scientists are studying the wrong aspects of this diet. Focus on whether or not it works instead of if this was truly an ancestral global diet. It's fairly common sense that more fruit grew closer to equatorial regions, but it's also common sense that athletic prowess requires high protein.

I prefer to follow the research rather than the fads. Paleo has good aspects but it is a fad, and many who propagate it's popularity cheery pick research that backs their perspective and ignoring much research that is counter to what they are "believers" in.

I believe the Paleo diet to be a sound diet without having to be connected to our "ancestors" however there are aspects I think are pointless such as cutting out dairy or legumes, both of which are good for the system and have their benefits. Obviously if you have intolerance to either then don't eat them.
I think a Paleo based diet, along with dairy and legumes, without vegetable oils and things like processed carbs etc, would be a much healthier diet than Paleo alone.
