Article: The 4 Dumbest Ab Exercises

Training abs should be so simple. Yet there are more ab exercises than back and chest exercises combined.. Derp.

Why? My hypothesis is that it's the one area that the most people are the most insecure about. Therefore a disproportionate amount of attention is paid towards it.

Ab training is simple. People are over complicating it. I agree that the plank is used by crappy trainers. Why hold a plank and waste time, when I can do something else for about 20 seconds that's way more effective.

Regular crunches
Roman chairs
Side bends
DB pullovers
Rope pulldowns
Occasionally variations of leg raises

That's literally all I do for specific midsection training. And wouldn't you know it, it works! I don't necessarily do all of these exercises in one workout, but that's the exercise selection I use. Rarely I will do something else to make it less boring, but very rarely.

Was this article written for "Seniors Health"? I'm not saying it's impossible to injure your spine with a side bend but if you do maybe you should consider taking up knitting instead.
My 3 abs moves 3x per week:
1- hanging leg raises
2- pull down crunches
3- v-ups
