Surprising that an article from T-Nation suggests using one of their way over priced products. Skip the Mag 10- consume some BCAA's instead.
that's some serious BS, damn marketers are getting clever. They may think this is an effective method, but it's actually very annoying to waste my time.
Well, the approach is correct and good but the sticking point for me was saying that "Mag-10" was the secret weapon when actually just about anything that helps preserve amino acids during cardio would have worked. BCAA's would be ideal here, but MCT's would work as well as just about any other protein supplement that has a broad amino profile with BCAA's in the mix.
what are your thoughts on combining bcaas with mct oil? Ive been doing that lately before my workouts lately in the morning. I always either lift or do cardio in the mornings and i have something small to eat (usualy egg whites and oats) about 30minutes before the bcaas/mct oil mix then head straight to the gym (lifting days) and i skip the meal if im just doing cardio. Im trying to just maintain my muscle and burn that fat off right now.
So I could use this approach to cardio with my simple XTEND amino acid drink instead of this MAG-10? Would you still recommend the caffeine tablet 10 mins before getting up?
Yes, I think I'll give this a shot on my next cut although I think I'll shoot for 125 bpm instead of 120. I wouldn't drink much XTEND though, maybe 10g max. Although I like the idea of casein protein, too since it is slow releasing.

So you think I could slam down a Casein shake before starting (I currently have ON Casein in choc supreme!) and then sip on my XTEND every 15 mins as detailed in the article for basically, the same effect?
