problem:
rats don't eat and have not over evolutionary time NORMALLY eaten high fat diets...
humans, however, have.

this is one instance where rodent/human comparisons are not gonna hold, at least so far as the trigger is concerned...
now, it would be interesting to see if the SIRT-1 plays a similar role in humans, and is destroyed due to a high carb diet (which would seem to match existing data on human health re diet composition - high sugar/starch diets -> metabolic dysfunction, high fat LOW sugar, however, does not) NOT a high fat diet.
