As for the article, I like the idea of doing the first few light warm up sets from a deficit. I don't normally like deficit pulls (heavy ones) because in real life, I am never in that position on a pull. And if I'm never actually in that position (deficit) during a competition pull, it never made sense for me to practice it - at least on heavy sets. The set-up for a deficit pull is different than a regular pull and for me it throws everything off. The same is NOT true for block pulls.
