Article: Paleo Pitfalls

Very informative article. Although I adopt many of the principles, I've never been a fan of the term 'paleo', because there really is no such thing, and for reasons mentioned above can create confusion and result in backlash from certain people. I see it more as a common sense approach, and in essence that's all it really is. The 'paleo' label has been adopted largely to sell books and lifestyle plans. It's a catchy phrase and I can see the appeal in today's modern fast paced, fast food ridden world. From a marketing POV it's quite clever. In my experience though, if someone really needs to be TOLD to eliminate hyperpalatable sugar and processed fat foods from their diet, you're fighting an uphill battle already.

Agreed. The way "paleo" has been tossed around, it's lost all meaning or purpose.

Exactly. There is no such thing as a Paleo diet. People would've eaten whatever was available where they lived, which obviously is going to be different from place to place. Another thing to mention is that sometimes they wouldn't have had anything to eat for days. A lot of people now think that if you feel hungry you have to eat and you have to eat until you feel full. There is nothing wrong with being hungry. Eat what you need to, not what your emotions tell you.

Great read very informative.
So get a valid hunting and fishing license and go out hungry to find (hunt and gather) food ... Bring back (ie, carry on your back) just enough to feed the family with no left overs...then maybe you could attempt this eating style....
Thanks for breaking it down like this.
