Article: New Chicken Inspection Rules Add Risk

makes me rethink chicken as a primary protein source, not really I'll just be more thorough when I wash it and hope for the best

"I'll just be more thorough when I wash it"
This for sure.
Its not the fact that chicken is dangerous its the dumb people with bad habits that are the problem.

Take microbiology, learn some things and stop being dumb lol

There was actually a report released in June of this year saying that washing your chicken is one of the best ways to spread bacteria around your kitchen. The study showed that bacteria was found up to three feet away from the sink in which the chicken was washed. I know water splashing three feet away while you're washing something is the worst case scenario, but I for one, wouldn't think to sanitize that far away.

Micro made me not want to touch any food for a long time Lol. I need to start washing my chicken however I opt for lean beef and turkey these days .

Just grill that sh!t crisp or pan fry it up good in some coconut oil! problem solved. Washing chicken beforehand helps but it just spreads the microbes (if present) to the sink. unless your washing it in an Antibiotic soap or soaking in a bleach solution-the real disinfecting comes from the cooking process not the prep.

just practice good food seperating...keep all poultry seperate from other foods and you should be fine.
