Article: Muscle Protein Synthesis and the Anabolic Window

Stop over thinking it, i'm thirsty as fuk after working out and its as good a time as any for a refreshing protein/carb drink, Ya maybe you will get the same results taking the same amount of nutrients spaced out hours after training but why would you want to do that? makes no sense, not eating after workouts only to double down later. for what? to prove a point?

I work out fasted because I have to...I lift very early in the AM and I don't really have time to eat before hand. And if I did eat, I'd probably just puke it up anyway.

So I do start eating after I lift. I drink a few scoops of powdered Gatorade down and follow that by 50g of whey in ff milk. That holds me off for a few hours until I get hungry again.

I do this because it is convienent for me. After a hard lifing session, I'm not in the mood to fix or eat a proper breakfast. So I wait until a bit later to start eating real food. I don't think there's an advantage to this over anything else really. If that Gatorade and whey was all I had all day, I'd shrink. If I skipped the Gatorade and whey and just ate a few hours later - but still ate the same amount of calories, I bet I'd still grow the same.

Brandon, your writing is atrocious and the whole article is jumbled and hard to follow. It has no clear introduction, concise anecdotal info and more importantly succinct conclusion.

Nutrient timing is key and by just arguing facts against my statement based only on protein synthesis is absurd. Protein synthesis is only part of the equation.

Peri wo nutrition is key for individuals who train intensely. Finely tune pre intra and post nutrient timing has changed my recovery and my ability to train harder and my overall physique has benefited immensely.

Edit: below

Hmm...interesting comments

Oh how could I?! 150 mg of trt is all I'm on. I experimented with this flexible eating or shall I say just hitting macros regardless of timing b4 I started anything hormonal and the difference FOR ME between that and focusing on nutrient timing etc was night and day. Yes drugs enhance this but they are NOT magic. There are plenty of guys Around these forums who use all kinds of gear and still look, we'll let's say okay. No study or anything will change my mind on the importance of nutrient timing. I do what works for me
