Article: Meal Plan For Abs

I was thinking the exact same thing. I guess that is the whole point, though.

Be that as it may, I have read time and time again and tried to a certain extent that more meals a day is a more effective way to lose weight, granted that you split the same amount of calories in more meals. Also, keeping the water ingestion high to get rid of waste and avoid liquids retention. Eating less times will slow down metabolism and force the body into energy conservation mode, aka catabolism.

Finally, the article considers that a 200 pound person is the same, no matter whether it's 20% or 5% body fat. I think at this point it is widely accepted that muscle tissue consumes energy, unlike fatty issue, so it does make a difference what your body composition is. Also, it treats exercise all the same, when it is also widely known that weight training, HIIT, and cardio have a different caloric consumption intra workout and post workout. That is, cardio will keep your metabolism boosted up for a while afterwards, while weight training and the muscle damage it entails will consume lots of calories in the ensuing repairs and muscle growth.

All in all, some valuable information here, but I reckon the article is a little outdated.

Not enough protein for a 200 pound man in that sample diet. I think the macros are completely off.

Btw - sendivogius - "Eating less times will slow down metabolism" is an old school way of thinking and has been proven wrong. It's outdated info. Eating 4 times per day will not slow anything down. It's fine. Check out the IF (intermittent fasting) diet for example.
