To maintain my weight loss and still build muscle i just stay away from sugars and refined carbs. I keep my carbs under 50 g a day too. It really works.

It might work; if you want to build muscle at a snails pace. Also I doubt your 50g of carbs diet would work well when I bike over 12 miles a day.
