Article: Heavy Ab Training

Who the F**K has those machines at any gym tho? I've never seen that in my life. And most gyms u can't just drag the preacher bench around. It's usually bolted to the floor.

Just use a mobile incline bench and set it up with the same pulley you do your tricep rope pushdowns on, should work about the same.

Your core is to prevent bending and twisting. So to prescribe these exercises is only reinforcing poor core and spine health.

I understand the premise behind the article, but their are more functional and efficient methods to training the Abs. We are not incorporating the entire core here the title is very specific in saying "Heavy Ab". The core doesn't "prevent bending or twisting" it adds stabilization to the more mobile components of the body. Bw activities are nice but bulletproof abs take weight training through short and full ROM activities.
SN: Never seen such specific abdominal machines in any gym Ive been to either.

Personally I liked this article. I've been doing several of the workouts in my youth which made me a beast in the army.

Uh, are we supposed to buy this machine or build it ourselves? Is this an advertisement? Seriously.

My gym has this machine lol

I'm going to have to agree with everything stated above...not to be that guy but are there heavy weighted exercises you could have shown us with the 'usual equipment' so we don't have to try to rig something and wind up injured?
