I'm curious why you should keep your chin tucked? I have been told since day 1 look at the ceiling. Could someone please explain this?

Keeping your chin tucked and looking down helps you drive with your hips out of the hole. If your looking at the ceiling your natural tendency is to lead with your chest. Your power comes from hip drive. I suggest reading Mark Rippetoe's starting strength book.
