Or man the **** up. Eat less exercise more and have a little self control. If you're really that weak the problem is mental and not necessarily physical.
 
Yeah I don't think eat more exercise more works. Otherwise bodybuilders wouldn't be dieting as hard as they do. Like the dude above me. Self ****ing control people

Whole point of that ELEM and EMEM is that you cycle diet... basicly on EMEM you boost your metabolism by eating more and exercising more. Also your hormonal system ramps up. Then you go ELEM. basicly this is when your fat burning primes since you are eating less but your metabolism+hormones go full speed ahead from that EMEM. Then before your metabolism and hormonal functions start to slowdown. You go fuel it again with EMEM.

EMEM doesnt have to be high surplus. Maybe you eat around maintenance/abit above it and then during ELEM you drop it by -10% to -30% or something.

This is how i see and this way it makes sense.

Basicly stuff such as 5/2, carb cycling and zig zag dieting etc. methods work same. for example 5/2 diet... 5days you eat normally and then 2 days. usually weekend you take days off and eat a lot less. Your metabolism is burning fat like there is no tomorrow for those 2 days.
With carb cycling you keep your fat burning "furnace" running optimally by fueling it with high carb days and on medium and low days it burns fat.
Same with zig zag. either on daily or weekly basis. ie daily would be offdays less and on days around maintenance. weekly could be that 1week less 1 week maintenance or something like that... basicly same as this EMEM and ELEM.

Its not about self control. who says you can and have to eat crap on those EMEM days? it could basicly be even that for example on EMEM weeks you eat 1-2 cups more rice or what ever and on ELEM weeks you eat 1-2cups of that rice less and get a bit more salad instead of it.

Without knowing. You might actually be using somewhat samekind aproach on dieting. Not identical but still a bit something similar.

Cycling diet is powerful way to burn fat and give you good results no matter how you do it. There is many ways to do it and none is really right way. Just find the diet that works for you to cut down.

edit. Common mistake newbies do is they eat less and think that they have to increase exercises.
Technically you dont have to change anything on your exercises. Just eat a bit less.
Whole point of that ELEM is that you maybe do some sets less and eat less. So that you dont burn yourself out. You still give your workout all you got ofcourse.

If you drop food intake too low and actually then even increase exercising.. you are just asking for trouble on long term. For short time it might work.
