Article: Big Without Strong Is Nothing

Good read.

Solid advice, but I think you can simplify it even more. Heavy compound movements = aesthetic results + strength. They will expose your deficiencies very quickly and you will build up strength and size across the board. This results in time savings as well. Heavy back + heavy chest = no more need to do arm isolation exercises. Heavy squats + heavy deadlifts = little need to do ab isolation exercises. Thanks for writing about this, more people need to understand this.

P.S. -- If people would actually read
Arnold's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding instead of looking at the exercises, they'd learn that Arnold built the foundation of his body with powerlifting movements. Franco Columbu was a competitive powerlifter.

The read is great ... but is only for the people that are serious to get big stronger, or compete . The majority of the gym rats is nothing that they want to do or can do. I heard all possible freaking excuses why someone can't squat or dead lift but they all bench their crappy numbers every Monday for the T-shirt looks . I am a female strength athlete and i squat 375lbs for 6 reps and i dead 405 at the weight of 132lbs. I get the ass when i make some noise after a big squat and use chalk and have these idiots wanna be talk ****!! So the other day i said you can bench all day long try to get big , BUT unless you load the bar and put it on your back and squat down not bend at the knees.. in my book you wearing the pink underwear!!
Just say my PEACE !!!!!!!
