Article: Beating Beachtime Bloat

Is it just me or do the writers at Men's Fitness seem to have the dumbest articles in fitness?

But yes, this is indeed rubbish and filler. All of their articles usually are and I wish AM would "unsubscribe" as it were.

I mean, coconut water is pretty amazing after a rough night. This is a good beginners article. I would like to give credit where it is due!

If there reasoning for drinking coconut water is due to its high potassium levels then u might aswell chomp down on a couple of bananas

Poorly.... Perhaps we should not critique English until we speak it.

Badly is an adverb and in this sentence explains how the action, written, is performed. The definition of badly, taken from dictionary.com, is

in a defective, incorrect, or undesirable way: The car runs badly.

2.in an unsatisfactory, inadequate, or unskilled manner: a vague, badly written letter; He paints badly.

3.unfavorably: His neighbors spoke badly of him. The weather turned out badly for the cruise.

4.in a wicked, evil, or morally or legally wrong way.

5.in a disobedient, naughty, or ethically or socially wrong way: He treats his parents badly.

With this in mind, please explain in English how my previous sentence was not written in proper English, excusing the contraction which is acceptable when used in informal discourse such as this.

You have used the incorrect pronoun in referring to Men's Fitness, which is a single entity. The correct pronoun to use in your sentence is 'its'.

Perhaps we should not critique English until we speak it.

I can't believe this has turned into a debate about proper grammar. Lol

"There is a slight difference between poorly, and badly: Poorly should be used when something is considered inadequate, while badly should be used to when something is inadequate."

I suppose it is a matter of opinion. Therein lies the answer.

I did make the mistake of referring to the staff of the magazine as a collective noun. Men's Fitness still blows.

It's a matter of style not of grammar. Hopefully you have learnt not to call out what you perceive to be other people's mistakes in an attempt to belittle them publicly. There really never is any need for such a behavior.
