This shouldn't be that hard for most experienced lifters. I think 495 x 10 would be a little more of a challenge to aspire to.

I think you may be missing the point. It's not about specifically doing the 405x10, its about the lessons he learned while going for that goal. Which was HIS goal, and is not necessarily mine or yours or anyone else's. The weight is irrelevant, if for you its 495x10, and for me its 405x10; the lessons are the same.

You're losing sight of the journey in desperate search of the destination.

Yes, you gotta have goals (for yourself) to chase, period.
I always loved higher rep deads, going back to old Dr Ken articles.
Authors box squats were pretty strong too.
The reverse band pulls in the top vid is good stuff too, I have used them also. What is that guys reg top pull? (as his pulling is pretty dang strong for higher hipped stuff)
