Arm and love handle growth

So I've taken some training and nutrition advice from the good people here at AM and upped my calories, changed my lifting routine and stuck to a program. My goal was to increase muscle mass and make me skinny arms grow. I've had good success but have noticed my love handle/midsection area has also increased a little bit.
My question is: Will I lose my hard earned arm size if I decide to shed some fat pounds or will it stay part of my "new" physique?
Its good to look big with your shirt on but summer is around the corner and I'd like to look big with my shirt off but not lose what I've gained....

My suggestion is to slowly reduce calories a little bit and see what happens with body fat. I think if you try to "quickly shred" you are going to see a reduction in size beyond just a loss of skin fold (fat) measurements. Your body is like a pendulum, allow it to settle in one direction and adjust to the new muscle as "set point" and your ability to maintain muscle mass while reducing body fat will be improved. Or such has been my experience.

I just started doing some short treadmill sprints a few days ago. Started with 5 for 30 seconds. To be honest, haven't done much cardio in the past year. Just ate and lifted.

Yes, agree ^
If you lose BW to quickly, you can lose something like 30%-40% lean mass or at least lose fluids etc. in those tissues.
If you lose say #2 pounds or less a week, it will be more fat mass and become an easier habit to eat to maintain that BW while adding lean mass gains slowly.
Keep in mind too, that even though the arm may be smaller in measurement, if it is cut and defined more, it will appear to be larger than a smooth but larger measuring arm.
