Apresflex® - The Next-Gen, Patented, Super-Charged Boswellia Serrata extract

The human body has two major inflammatory pathways, either through 1) the activation of the LOX or 2) the activation of the COX enzyme (some of you may recognize this as COX-1 and COX-2). The major difference between the two is how spread out they are through the human body (COX being far more spread out than LOX). Boswellia serrata is has a unique mechanism of action, specifically inhibiting the LOX inflammation enzyme.

LOX is traditionally in the most injured areas of the body, so because Boswellia serrata targets LOX and not COX, it avoids the unwanted side effects of systemic wide COX inhibition, while still stopping inflammation where it’s really needed, your muscles. Boswellia is the most promising of the natural LOX inhibitors on the market (1).

So you’re sitting there, thinking that’s good and all, but what about actual results? Well…

Apresflex® has studies in humans showing there were significant effects on pain reduction and an increase in physical function in subjects who took 100 mg Apresflex(®) for 90 days in a double blind, randomized controlled trial (2). They noted subjects noticed a reduction of pain in as little as 7 days! Another study found the same effects in humans taking 100 mg of Apresflex(®) during a 30 day double blind randomized controlled trial, this time noting subjects noticed an improvement in as little as 5 days (3).

Another study in humans found that 100 mg of a patented 5-loxin extract reduced pain and improved physical function in humans. They hypothesized that these effects may be due to a reduction in pro-inflammatory modulators, and an improvement in joint health by reducing enzymatic degradation of cartilage in patients with osteoarthritis (4).

While boswellia extracts are all over the industry, you have no idea if the extraction is actually for the effective components unless it is from the patented Apresflex. Apresflex® not only includes 5-loxin, but includes the strongest anti-inflammatory in Boswellia, AKBA (5). When compared to AKBA alone, Apresflex® showed faster absorption and quicker healing effects, making it the most optimal Boswellia extract on the market (6).

Expect Apresflex® to be the leading joint support ingredient of the future.

Great write-up!

So, boswellia (and Apresflex in particular) would be better than curcumin for issues like sore knees/elbows and maybe even mild sciatica pain?

IMO yes, simply because curcumin requires a large and rather expensive dose because of absorption issues. I still quite like curcumin though!
