Just wondering if anyone is doing anything different or trying something new and getting good results?

I was on Finasteride and minoxidil for 6 years and it started to stop working, started to slowly recede then my Dr swapped me to Dutasteride and I have been on that for a year and it has absolutely destroyed my hairline, I have also been doing dermarolling the whole time (once a week)

The Turish Lira is weak af atm ;)

I have seen some serious awesome transplant results with a few mates.

u using oral or td min, you wanna have a regiment down pat thats keeping things stagnant imo before taking the leap though

Using oral for awhile now, swapped over from topical and maintained for ages. I think hair transplant is the only way tbh, I do have an appt to see a specialist to analyse what's actually going on with my hair because it can't be dht haha.... maybe high test in the scalp as my test is naturally high.

no idea, I'm just now giving a dht blocker shampoo, biotin conditioner and the minoxidil a try myself. The reviews did warn that it gets worse before it gets better with minoxidil and I'm seeing that for sure.

I Just started td minoxidil. I can tell I won't keep up with it but will try with a 3 month supply. If it works, was there any adverse effects noticed with oral?

I'm using a topical solution that mixes minoxidil and finasteride.

Did bloodwork and photos the first day, will let you know in 3 and 6 months.

I also found out in the bloodwork that my estrogens were in the higher sector of the "healthy" range so gotta do something for those too.

I have read that when using minoxidil it 'gets worse before it gets better'. Not sure I understand the science behind it but something about pushing out old follicles to create healthier ones...? idk

Yeah it will definitely cause hairs to shed/start a new cycle of hair growth so it can make it look slightly-moderately worse for the first 3 months, then after that it starts to thicken up generally with the new cycle of hair growth... also if you stop it at that point you will potentially lose more than base level of growth, that is why you should never start minox unless you plan on keeping it up

maybe I give it a solid 3 month go then see what's up and that will guide me my next choice of supplements...

Yeah worth a shot, definitely look into massage, caffeine shampoo/serums and red light therapy too

for real?
Yeah caffeine serums have been shown to have similar effects to Minoxidil for hair growth, wont be as good but it will definitely help and also doesnt have the sides Minox does. Red light Therapy definitely helps speed up growth too, lots of research on it and I definitely notice hair benefits if I use it consistently. Have been a bit incosistent lately though

Saw a specialist today, he basically told me I was over thinking it, had a look at the scalp and very little dht build up and not much they could do for the hair line other than prp and laser, didnt seem to believe me that duta destroyed my hairline... I do have a lot of hair still but my hairline is very thin and pushed back a bit since starting it, I really dont know what he was doing, but you can see clear as day quite a bit of thinning and patches in some areas.

I'm essentially beyond natty at the moment taking almost no supplements at all with a DHT blocker shampoo, biotin conditioner, and the minoxidil. I also had the girl cut my hair longer this time on top and it *seems* thicker already, although I'm still finding a bit in my hands when I'm washing. idk. how do they look for dht buildup in your scalp?

They use a microscope thing and look at your scalp, if you have dht build up at the follice it looks like bruising around the hair. Some of thosse shamppos can make your hair appear thicker, maybe your just noticing that. It takes time to notice results, less time to notice loss, the 3 month mark you should have atleast stopped shedding and potentially started regrowth
