any tips for a recently diagnosed diabetic

Well I was just diagnosed with diabetes (doc says most likely type one) and I need some advice on how to adjusty diet especially since I just had a molar removed(3 more and a wisdom tooth to go) so needless to say eatings been difficult lately lost 60lb in the last 18 months to make things even worse
