I have a large supply and have read 500mg a day is good starting point but am not sure if they are taking morning and night. After your pre work out etc any insight would help thanks

Just started yesterday on extended release 500mg tabs twice a day. I only have a 30 day supply for now so hoping to see how it impacts my fasting blood glucose numbers during the next month or so.

What is it's actual use for a bodybuilder does it allow more carbs or burn more fat

Improves insulin sensitivity which means ingested carbs are increasingly stored as skeletal muscle glycogen and less likely to be stored as bodyfat.

Just remember, once your glycogen stores are full, more carbs can and will be used for fat storage even with metformin.
Excellent point...and IIRC, we can store a maximum of only about 500g of glycogen on average.

This is dependent on lean body mass. Kiefer has a formula for figuring out exactly how much carbs your muscles can take.
