Hey guys.
I am in less than one month going to jail.
And i am i need of some good reading material!
Do any of you know of any good books when it comes to bodybuilding, training guides or anything like that?
Preferably something with natural bodybuilding, but i guess that's not to common?
Guessing most of the bodybuilders having written books have used steroids.
Not quite the book person, but can't exactly surf the internet from jail so..

Thanks!

Starting strength by Mark Rippetoe. If you go on amazon and look for it they suggest u bunch of other good books about training.

this isnt a lifting book but i am legend is my all time fave book

Badfish: Thanks, i'll check it out! Never used amazon but i'll give it a try

Benmayro: I'll check it out, in need of any good reading material so anything would be good

the movie is loosely based off of it. but the main character is a linebqcker size white guy not will smith

not bb related but a fantastic series is vince flynn the mitch rapp series(not so named but the main character). the books are medium sized and are fast reads. hope the prisons in norway arent like most of ours over here. good luck

The Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding is my favorite. Very big and full of interesting training techniques, supps, diets, etc.

And the Bible can be an interesting too when read a few times. Dad, cousin and.buddy both read it several times in there and came out better than ever. No joke

ambulldog: I'll see about theese to, thanks for the advice.
Nah, the prisons in Norway is quite "luxurious" in comparrison to many prisons around the world.
The only downside is that just like all other prisons, there is absolutely nothing to do! Especially where i'm going since it's a highsecurity prison.
The fact that i'm going to a highsecurity prison is a joke by itself.

Rome32: Thanks, i'll check that one out too.

Thanks for all the responses guys, realy appreciate it! Good to have a place to go when in need of advice when it comes to bodybuilding!

That's why we are a community, not just a forum! Best of luck brother.

Thanks Rome! Appreciate it! I'll make the best of the advices here and try to make the best of my time behind bars.
If i'm lucky the gym there isn't too bad, and i won't mess up my progression!

Vidapreta: Yeah, some things.
I'm allowed to bring my own clothes + books and writing/drawing material, but that's about it.
I was supposed to be sent to a place called "Hof".
There you can bring just about whatever you want to.
And you can basicly get up from bed, walk out to the courtyard, and just walk away, no fences or anything! it's called "open atonement". (But they will come after you ofc, just because you can leave doesn't mean you are allowed to)
But they decided i was too dangerous for that.

Long story made short.
For protecting my girlfriend

You gotta do what you gotta do.

If it was protecting someone then I don't see an issue. We all would do the same my man.

Just wish the Norwegian state saw it from my point of view, i protected my girl, and i am the one stuck with jailtime and 145k NOK ( about 24k USD) in payment to the douche that attacked her..
But it is as you said! I did what i had to do, i knew it would have consequences

Just for the record guys, i hope you don't look at me like a douche that picks fights, this was the first fight i've had since elementary school.
I'm actually a pretty calm guy and try my best to take care of the people around me.
This just accidentaly went too far.

How long will you be in there?

Not too long, the judge said that what i did was dangerous and reckless, but she understood the circumstances, and since i had no criminal record she was real nice and let me off with just two months.
If my behavior is good just one month, and i'm no troublestarter so i'll be out in no time!
And with all the people in line to get to jail in Norway, i'm guessing they will let me out after 20-25 days as long as i am calm and so as i am told.
Since there are other people that will need my cell

Think of it as a vacation. Just lift, read, and unwind. Take the one to find yourself. I PMed you.

That's a ****ty situation I'm familiar with. Last year I had an argument with some dumb bitch i ran into at a party that was sending death threats to my bro in law saying she's having people look for him after he told his best friend (her boyfriend) that she came on to him while he was passed out. We had words which lead to her hitting me in the back of the head with a cell phone which I in turn picked up and threw. I got a disorderly conduct on a reduced charge and a year probation. Never contacted by police , never arrested or knew I was in trouble till a bench warrant showed up in the mail. $2,500 for a lawyer, a phone, court costs and probation cost for telling a bitch off and chucking her phone after being assaulted with it, even after she confessed to the public prosecutor that she was tbe cause of the situation the judge still charged me. Its all about gettin money,Broken ass system. Keep your head up in the cage, karma will take care of those who deserve what's coming to them later ;-)

Best of luck dude. My personal all time favorite book is Flags of our Fathers. An amazing book that talks about the battle of Iwo Jima in world war 2. Actually he authors father is one of the flag raisers in the famous picture. Some other cool books are the Alex Rider series, Flyboys ( which is by the same author as Flags of our Fathers, and Natural Bodybuilding by John Hansen.

And instead of the bible, try reading the Koran. I read parts of it once for a World Religion project I did for school and it's really interesting.

Again best of luck

Send me some letters! You got my address.

Way of change by wes syleria. it's about lifting and a little touching on life. I really enjoyed it man. Real good read

Anything by Chuck Palahniuk, one of the best authors working today. Most people know him as the author of "Fight Club" , although that is hardly his best book.
I would start with , "Choke", or "Monster", or "Haunted", good luck.
