Androgenic receptors

hi everyone

So mike Arnold says in an article that we only have enough receptors for about 3.5g test per week, after this, you wont get any additional muscle gains but side effects will increase.

But i'm confused.. some advanced bodybuilders might run 100mg tren ace everyday and add extra compounds such as dbol. This can easily add up to more than 3.5g test equivalent, so why do people run such high dosages? we can only absorb so much with our receptors...

Is it because steroids work by other mechanisms in the body apart from the androgen receptors?

My guess is they probably do work by other mechanisms in the body. If they couldnt i would wonder the same thing, why would they take more than 3.5g. Also maybe 3.5g is the average and for bigger people maybe you can take more. I'm not sure though.
