Anderson v thalies-5 round snoozfest

I'd say Vegas is a tad above now because of Jacare, Drysdale, Marcello, Laimon, Mir, etc.

I had no idea. But, with LA it's a total culture thing now too. Isn't vegas more of an "MMA" scene rather than just BJJ oriented? On a side note, I'd love to be able to compete in grappler's quest.

How many of these guys teach there in vegas?

All of them, except Marcelo (he's with ATT in FL), train/live in Vegas and they have all won multiple ADCC, Worlds, etc.

I'd say 90% of the guys repping their camp at my friend's last MMA fight were primarily BJJ based. I can only think of 2 or 3 local gyms that are primarily MMA. I'd say more people use the name of who's teaching their BJJ as bragging rights, then whoever is teaching anything stand up.

He actually does really well in ADCC. Not a champ, but still holds his own.

I actually liked him for awhile. I was rooting for him all the way when he fought Lidell the first time, but then he got a bit too full of himself. I even rooted for him when he fought Machida (remnants of previous fanhood for Tito), even though I already thought he was a douche at this point.

Mike Tyson will go down in history as one of the best and most memorable fighters due to his Knock Out factor, not his ability to win by points. He was the most popular fighter because you were paying for a guaranteed KO and people want to see that.

Show boat Roy Jones, Jr. and the little badger Manny Paquio are loved and paid for their entertainment value, not their ability to end up on top by points.

Every sport has the minority of fans who can appreciate the strategery and technicality, but Champion fights or simply elite level fights are normally "shows" for the masses and the masses, whether it be boxing, MMA, football, if contact is any part of the sport, people want to see it done so in a violent manner, because that's entertainment.

Albeit, boxing has more cultured and patient fans then MMA in my opinion, but boxing has a much longer mainstream history to have developed that level of "smart" fan base.

Tyson was enjoyed because of his separation from humanity. People couldnt identify with him and it was all over in 6 months anyways. Yes, exciting fighters are obviously easier to promote, but being undefeated in pretty good too. Mayweather gets paid better than anyone for being 44-0 and possibly the G.O.A.T. Popularity doesnt hinge on excitement in boxing, and its nice to me. Bernard Hopkins, and his philly shell that definintly isnt that exciting. List goes on.

hahah he just has one of those deep voices and is a good public speaker. thats a hard job and ive acually heard him doing air plane races. i was like wtf i know this voice it cant be! omg air planes really?

"And we'll see you next time insid- uh... at the air field!"

I met Mike at a Coyotes game, the guy is honestly the nicest guy in the world. We had a 20 min conversation right off the bat, although smaller than he looks because Rogan is a midget.
