AnabolicMinds Transformation Thread

Well-known member
Keeping right in line with our new 10,000 rep Squat challenge and AaronJP1's new motivation thread, I am going to add to the shenanigans!

Admin has a plan for AnabolicMinds and that plan is to make this a welcoming community where people come to get results! All of our members here each have something to add to someone that is on the path to living a better life through fitness and health. Well, and to look good obviously ;)

Think back when you were first starting. It's kind of intimidating, right? Going into a gym where everyone looks how you want to look. It's funny, it's sort of self-defeating until you get in the right mindset to go in and use those people as motivation vs making you feel bad.

All that being said, we'd like to make a transformation thread to show newcomers or people just browsing that achieving their goals is possible and this thread serves as PROOF! Proof that if they put in the work, do a little research and stay consistent that they too can reach their goals.

So please post up any transformation pics that you have taken along the way guys! Be proud of your hard work and use your hard work as a means of motivation to anyone lurking or just joining to let them know they can be right where you are today.

Rules:

Respect above all else will be adhered to. Respect the member, their relationships (anything inappropriate or vulgar is NOT allowed) and their hard work at all times or this thread with vast potential to inspire WILL be closed and erased immediately.

On the same hand, no inappropriate photos this isn't Facebook ;). Keep it fitness and inspiration appropriate friends (PG13)

Who's up first???

If you ain't first, you're last! Invalid Link Removed I've gone through various transformations over the last few years... chubby to skinny and everything in between. This was from this spring/summer (january-july) where I went from 205lb @21%bf to 155lb @ 7% bf.

I also wanna note that a TON of what I now know and use to improve myself was learned from AM. The guys here are a wealth of knowledge that anyone can use to better themselves in any facet of their life.

Awesome job booneman! I agree- there is a vast amount of wisdom here and everyone is more than happy to share! AM is the best hands down!!

You guys, wow, for real, very strong work and incredibly inspiring. Good for all of you =)

I transform like this pretty much every year. Haha

Ha that's been me the last few years too. This year, no more. Staying close to ready through the winter so it's only a 4-6week cut to look my best

So many great transformations in here!! Awesome job everyone!!

Thank you...it has taken me several years to get where I am now. I have taken almost every wrong turn(training/nutrition), hit many rocks(health issues), and struggled with motivation many times but keep pushing forward with plans to only get better in every aspect of my life!! AM has been a huge help in the past 5 months since I joined!

How long if a span?

Every winter I turn bulk. Last season I just lost it. Normally I try not to go over 185 but I went to 192 at one point by just eating. Doing the bulk earlier this year but I might start running more to counter the fat gain.

In contrast, every year my diet had been getting cleaner and I'm really into eating a lot of veggies and fruit. My carb sources are mainly basmati/brown rice. Main protein, fish and chicken. 3 out of my 6 meals is mainly fish now.

Have you ever heard of phytates/phytic acid? If not, read up on them/it and occurrences in brown rice

Nice read, I'm glad I prefer basmati over brown then :). Jasmine is awesome but I bloat like no other on it.

When I cook my basmati rice I also add olive oil/flaxseed oil when it's time to eat it for taste and to slow down absorption.

That sounds delicious, I'm going to have to give that a go my man!

So basmati rice is better than brown rice?

In taste it's way better for me. Glycemic index about a point difference. Fiber is the only upside to brown rice vs basmati. I make that up with flaxseed meal. I mix that in my breakfast.

And in new light from what Spaniard mentioned I say go with basmati.

Great Posts Guys!!!

Will be joining in a little later!

Ill throw my little up here. So I was always a little husky kid and like the average American, I had absolutely zero idea of what proper nutrition was. I began playing sports at a young age and dropped a few lbs but still ate whatever sounded good and in quantities that baffle me to this day.

Even while I was in the Marine Corps I continued to lift and I was fairly strong but when I wasn't deployed I would booze it up every weekend and like all day. And to make matters worse, I believed I was pretty jacked at the time haha.

It wasn't until I was about 22 when I really started to dedicate myself, researching, and applying what I had learned in nutrition, training, an supplementation and I'm still learning and improving so I cannot complain.
