Anabeta & Prime - A Tale of Two Anabolics

Day 26

workout:
sumo deadlift - 225x3, 255x3, 295x7,4,5
goblet split squat - 80x8,8,8
russian leg curls - bw x 8,7,6
hill sprints x 10

Good, good day. Didn't expect deadlift to go as well as it did. Pulled 295 for 7 with relative ease, and the last 2 sets weren't too bad either. Snuck some chalk into the gym today, so that may have helped. Hills were a breeze. Going to eat a ton of Mexican food tonight. Can't wait for that.

Had some bloodwork done yesterday, got results back today. Wound up with some unexpected results. Going to discuss those with select parties before I elaborate. All is well, though. Health markers are lookin' fine.

VERY interested in bloods.. Nice work man!! Did you get the work done with dr. Orders or on your own??

Thanks dude!

Got the blood work done on my own. Had some done mid-february and wanted to see where things had gone since then.

Nice.. How do u do that?! I want to an need to so bad.. Through quest or something? Can u just go in and order the tests yourself if u know what u want?

Go Invalid Link Removed and order the hormone panel for females. It should be on the main page under "Most Requested Tests."

Then just pick the closest lab and go before work or school one morning. They make it pretty convenient.

Oh, and here's a code to get 15% off: stiethoa. It's good through the end of this month.

day 27

workout:
overhead press - 3x80, 3x95, 105x8,5,5
chin-downs - 3x110, 3x125, 150x8,5,5
one-arm lever press - 80x10,10,14
one-arm chin-downs - 100x10,10,9,4

Pretty decent workout today. Nothing too awesome to note. Still waiting to hear back before I share the bloodwork.

Oh. Pics. Snapped these about 30 mins post-workout, so I've likely got a bit of a pump going on. Feeling like I've made some decent progress in the last 3.5 weeks though.

day 29

workout:
front squat - 3x175, 3x195, 225x6,3,4
weighted hyperextensions - 80x10,8,8
goblet split squat - 80x8,8
bw hyperextensions - x10,10,10
hill sprints x 10

great f.ucking day in the gym. I killed those front squats. back extensions are going to become troublesome pretty soon if I keep increasing the load. going to have to figure out those logistics pretty quick.

great day outside of the gym so far, too. though I'm not terribly large, I'm feeling like it as of late. definitely getting some good vibes from my skeletal muscle.

4 weeks left. good things are happening, and will continue to happen. excited to see the before/afters are the end of this log.

Thanks bros. I was thinkin' the same thing.

day 31

workout:
bench press - 3x155, 3x175, 7x195, 200x3,2
one arm db rows - 5x70, 3x85, 85x8,5,5
one arm lever sh. press - 90x10,8,8
one arm cable pulldown - 50x8,7,7
hill sprints x 10

Good day in the ol' gym. Surprised myself with 7x195 on bench, so I jumped to 200 for that last couple sets. Will be starting out at 205 next week. Should be fun. Not much to note other than that.

Any updates on the bloods?
Yeah man. Couldn't get them to attach, so I'm linking them Invalid Link Removedand Invalid Link Removed.

First one is from Feb 14th, second is from April 6th.

I was taking Erase consistently for over a little over a month leading up to the first test, so maybe that's why the test was higher then. Don't know what else could have cause the drop between the two other than that. Everything is normal, but that second result is low-normal... and that makes me pretty sad.

Back real soon and ask for it.

day 33

workout:
sumo deadlift - 3x225, 3x265, 305x7,4,3
front squat - 185x8,6,6, 135x8
tabata sprints on elliptical - 4:00 mins

Couldn't believe I was able to pull 305 for 7 reps today. Was only able to get 295 for 7 last week. Very nice progress. It'll be 315 on deadlift next week. Going for a 5 rep max, but at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if I overshoot it. Not much else to say. Sh!t was awesome.

day 34

workout:
overhead press - 90x5, 105x3, 115x6,4,3
chindowns - 120x6, 135x5, 160x9,8,7
db incline bench - 65s x 10,8,7
one-arm bent cable row - 100x9,7,7

Another good day. I'll update with pictures sometime next week.

day 36

workout:
front squat - 185x3, 205x3, 235x5,2,2,2
sumo deadlift - 225x8, 275x6,5
tabata elliptical - 4 mins

Fu.ck. Today was hard. I'm guessing it had a lot to do with those front squats. They were killer. Next week is a lighter week, and I cannot wait.

Gained some lbs lately. No visible changes in body fat. Sweet.

I hate front squats too, lol

day 38

workout:
bench press - 125x5,145x4,170x3,195x2,215x1,225x1,185x8
1 arm db rows - 65x5,75x4,90x3,100x2,110x2,95x7
one arm lever press - 95x10,8,8
d-grip pulldowns - 135x10,8,7
dips - bw x 18
invert rows - bw x 12
sprints

Switched things up a bit today. Decided on a 5,4,3,2,1 type of loading/rep scheme. It's periodized similar to Wendler's 5/3/1 program. Happy to elaborate if asked. Anyway, good day. Hungry as hell, and pretty exhausted after that workout. Been having some knee issues lately. Back of my knee, where the hamstrings insert, I've got a good deal of tendon pain. Not sure what it could be. Perhaps overuse, as it's happening in both legs. Will be looking out for that, and trying to figure it out.

day 40

workout:
sumo deadlift - 3 singles at 335, 3 singles at 315
front squat - 6x3 at 175, minimum rest
tabata elliptical

weird day. trying out some new stuff. those singles were hard as hell. not a lot to add. decent workout, but feeling very mediocre.

I am always interesting in hearing new ideas... please do elaborate.
Well, I actually have switched it up since. I've been training the same way for awhile, and in the last couple days have been trying to figure out what I want to switch to. Here's what I've come up with:

on main lifts
week 1: 9 sets of 3 at 80% of training max (training max = 90% of 1RM)
week 2: 7 sets of 3 at 85% of training max
week 3: 5 sets of 3 at 90% of training max
week 4: add 5-10 pounds to each training max and start again at week 1

Rest periods are as short as possible without causing a significant decrease in rep performance. Instead of going for rep maxes, I'm trying to bring about the same effect with the cumulative fatigue brought on by the short rest periods... so I actually wind up doing more volume than I would on 5/3/1, but since I'm only doing 3 rep sets, I'll be fresher for each set, which should lead to better rep performance overall. Working weights are a bit lighter than what you'd do on 5/3/1, but there is more emphasis on controlled eccentrics and max acceleration on concentrics.

Thanks for the explanation... sounds pretty good actually... I will be following along closely to see how you are liking it. I am doing FST7 .. but on my next change up might try something like this.

day 43

workout: 7x3 on all lifts; 1 min rest between sets
front squat - 210
bench - 185
1 arm db rows - 90

Great workout today. Felt like I could've pumped out sets of 3 for the rest of the day. Feeling very good overall. Full body made me not want to do conditioning so much, but I'll be sure to fit in 2 or 3 sessions sometime this week. I'll try and snap some pictures to update with on wednesday. Hopefully I can see some kind of change!

day 44

workout: 1 minute rest periods
rack pulls - 7x3 at 285
ohp - 9x3 at 100
pullup variations - 10x3 at body weight
accessory work - threw in a few 1 arm db shoulder presses and cable rows, plus some bicep work

I LOVE this new training method. I'm kicking some major ass in the gym. Yesterday and today I felt like I could have gone all day, even though I'm doing way more volume than I would be if I were going for rep max sets with the same weight. I'm thinking my maxes are going to climb pretty quickly with this method. Pics tomorrow.

Very nice.. Did u find this training method somewhere or just kinda develop Ocer time? How do u determine what to do for volume and what to do for accessory, and on what time frame/schedule?

It's a mix of a few different programs and general training information that I've combined over time.

Volume varies with the load used. I can get between 7 and 9 sets of 3 at 80% of training max (training max = 90% of 1rm) before rep performance suffers (aka, before I start grinding reps). I'm aiming for 5-7 sets of 3 at 85%, and 3-5 sets of 3 at 90%. Week 1 uses 80% loads, 85% on week 2, 90% on week 3. After week 3, I add 5-10 lbs to each training max and do the three week cycle again. Accessory work is elective. If I feel like I need a little extra of something, I do it (usually for 2-3 sets of 8-12 reps). If not, I don't.

Good your new routine is working so well for you... what kind of effects are you feeling off Anabeta/Prime now?

day 27

workout:
overhead press - 3x80, 3x95, 105x8,5,5
chin-downs - 3x110, 3x125, 150x8,5,5
one-arm lever press - 80x10,10,14
one-arm chin-downs - 100x10,10,9,4

day 45

just a light body weight workout today, nothing worth going into too much detail about. snapped a couple pictures just a couple minutes ago. I think I can see some differences. Not entirely sure.

Not sure really. From the beginning, the anabeta has given me a noticeably increased sense of wellbeing. Felt pretty energized for the first few days on prime, but haven't noticed much else from it. I'm making good progress as far as numbers go, so I'm sure they're both doing something.

day 46

workout:
front squat - 220 lbs, sets of 2-3, 20 total reps
bench press - 200 lbs, sets of 1-3, 20 total reps
1arm db rows - 100x7,4
tbar rows - 2Px8,6

great workout today, albeit hard. took about 45 minutes. looking forward to crashing tonight. I'm feeling pretty exhausted after all that.

day 47

workout:
rack pulls - 305, sets of 2-4, 20 total reps
overhead press - 105, sets of 2-4, 20 total reps
vhandle pulldowns - 150, sets of 4-5, 20 total reps

those pulls really got to me. very, very glad that the weekend is here.

day 50

workout: speed/power emphasis
front squat - 175, 35 total reps, sets of 3-5, ~ 1 min rest
bench press - 155, 35 total reps, sets of 3-5, ~ 1 min rest
accessory work - mostly pulling movements, high volume, medium weight

Great workout today. Looking forward to tomorrow. This thing is almost done. Excited to give the final report and make comparisons.

day 51

workout: speed/power emphasis
snatch grip romanian deadlift - 185, 35 total reps, sets of 1-5, ~ 1 min rest
overhead press - 80, 35 total reps, sets of 4-8, ~1 min rest
accessory/assistance work - again, lots of pulling, and some unilateral shoulder stuff

great time in the gym today. looking forward to the rest day tomorrow, though.

day 53:

workout:
front squat - worked up to a heavy set of 2x245
bench press - worked up to a heavy sets of 2x215
rack rows - 8x135, 6x155
1 arm rows - 10x75

nothing pleasant to note. very fatigued today.

day 54

workout:
snatch grip deadlift - 225, 15 total reps, sets of 3-4
snatch grip romanian deadlift - 225, 15 total reps, sets of 4
overhead press - 110, 15 total reps, sets of 3-5
tons of vertical/horizontal pulling on cables

good workout today. first time really doing snatch grip deadlift. went surprisingly well. took a video, and the vital aspects look swell. looking forward to doing more of these. this is probably the manliest feeling exercise (other than sex) I've done.

Workouts are looking good... anything new to report on the stack front? How much do you have left?

Workouts are looking good... anything new to report on the stack front? How much do you have left?
Nothing much to report. It looks like anabeta and prime are both doing their jobs, but I haven't noticed anything extraordinary. Only 6 days left!

Will look forward to your final review... and match it up against mine... Being as I changed my dosage, I figure I have about 15 days remaining.

Any plans for your next stack?

Awesome. Definitely looking forward to your final review. A comparison will be fun.

Haven't put any serious thought into my next stack. I'll probably just stick with creatine for a while, and some Erase used intermittently.

so what time of day do you break your fast? do you workout during your fast or after you break it. Im just trying to figure out dosing
