I'm a fairly experienced amateur/hobbyist bodybuilder who is 6' 212 lbs fairly lean (I would estimate 10-13%) right now with arms at about 16.75" pumped. I've been training/bodybuilding again since March of this year, and am a little more than a week into an 8-9 week "blasting" bulking phase after a 5 week CKD to burn of some residual fat.
My goal is to train Doggcrapp style, which has worked very well for me in the past. I would like to get up to 220 lbs. (at a similar level of leanness if possible), or to gain about 8-10 lbs. of LBM through several "blasting/bulking" phases if necessary. I'd like my arms to measure 16.5-16.75 cold and over 17" pumped at a bodyfat of 10-12%.
In the past with shall we say, more helpful supplements I have been up about 17.75" arms pumped reasonably lean.
I'm eating about 4,000-5,000 calories and approximately 250-350g of protein per day depending on whether it is a training day, and aim to get bigger through increasing strength on primarily compound exercises per DC rest/pause training.
I'm also taking a lot of supplements through Bulk Supplements, mostly because I think each may be individually helpful to some degree, but also because I like to try different supplements.
My biggest experiment with this bulking cycle is high dose BCAA at 45g/day, which I've read several on several forums people gaining up to 7 lbs. of LBM with a few lbs. of fat loss in one month (sounds like a lot but even half those results would be excellent). I am also taking:
BCAA (see above)
Glutamine (recent studies show performance enhancing benefits + my own anecdotal experience)
Beta alanine
Betaine
Citrulline Malate
r-ala
ZMA and Taurine for much improved sleep
Acetyl carnitine/tyrosine
Fish oil
Whey and casein protein
I stopped taking creatine because I really get ridiculous water retention on it and I'm sick of it, please don't suggest creatine as I won't be taking it again for awhile.
That said, any thoughts on other supplements for mass I might not be including?
Other thoughts? I'm making progress and have just started my bulking phase but I'm dissatisfied because I feel like my arms seem to want to stay at 16.25" unpumped. I'm hoping strength increases + good eating will force growth.
