dht is dehydrotestosterone. it is made when testosterone becomes 5 alpha reduced via the 5a reductase enzyme.

you have three types of androgenic/anabolic hormones. testosterone, dehydrotestosterone, and nor testosterone.

these three make up the "base" of all the steroids you will ever see. the structure of the steroid is what causes it to be called an androgen, and is why it binds to the androgen receptor primarily.

whether a steroid is aromatizable, or non aromatizable has nothing to do with how anabolic, or androgenic it is. it's just an aromatizable steroid (convertable to estrogen) or non aromatizable steroid (un able to convert to estrogen)

5a reduced steroids (dht & dht derivatives) are incapable of aromatizing into estrogen.
