Alpha Mass + 5-Alpha test cycle

Hello everyone,

Been lurking around the forum for while and got lots of good info .. :)
Anyway, I've decided I'll try Alpha Mass and 5-Alpha test stack as my first ever PH cycle.
I got 2 bottles of each.

Little about myself:
I'm 27 years old, workout out all together for about 5 years. Current weight is around 195 lbs, at height 6.2 feet. Body fat percentage is around 17, most of fat on my hips/lower abs.
I have a very hard time gaining muscle or losing fat... About 2 years ago I had my hormones checked and the results were no good... Total test around 350 ng/dL, free test below the minimum and estrogen around 38.50 pg/mL (high).. Done tests multiple times - results always similar. Doctors won't do anything because my total test is in range (range is 280-1200) and I'm "fine", despite multiple symptoms. I took things into my own hands a bit, found out I got secondary hypogonadism (where HTPA isn't producing sufficient LH/FSH) - tried Clomid (low dose 12.5mg ED) - it worked - started feeling freakin' amazing in every aspect..When I go off everything (literally) falls back down :(.
As Clomid isn't really researched a lot long term on men I'm cycling it.
To aid my progress I decided I'll try some mild PH.

My goal is recomp.

My current plan is an 8 week cycle, like this:

Alpha Mass:
  • Weeks 1-4 : 6 tabs
  • Weeks 5-7 : 8 tabs

5-Alpha Test:
  • Weeks 1-2 : 2 tabs
  • Weeks 3-5 : 3 tabs
  • Weeks 5-8 : 4 tabs

Week 8 is 5AT only.

For PCT I have Clomid and if needed arimidex or aromasin (will most likely use adex).

What I'm not sure about is taking Clomid while on AM/5AT ?

Diet plan:
I've been low carbing (more or less ketogenic) for about 3 years now. It helped me a lot with fat loss and also a bit with mood etc. I ate 2000 kcal of high carb/low fat and gained fat like crazy. I suspect I'm highly insulin resistant as a concecuence of hormonal issues. Carbs just make me fat and basically kill my mood even more. I don't want to hear stories how you cannot build muscle on keto diet - I've done it. I went from 152 lbs and 25% BF to 195lbs and 17%, while on keto and after already lifting for 2 years!
Therefore my basic diet will stay the same. I'll add in a bit more LOW-GI carbs (barley) on workout days and up the protein.
This is my diet setup:
- workout days: 3500 kcal (100g carbs, 240g protein, 245g fat)
- non-workout days: 2200 kcal (30g carbs, 240g protein, 130g fat)

Training plan:
I have a 3 day weight training split:
Split 1 (mon):
deadlift 5x5
bent over barbell rows 5x5
pull ups 3x6
pull downs 3x6
seated cable rows 3x6
bicep curls

Split 2 (wed):
Barbell bench press 5x5
Cable crossover 3x6
Inclined bench press 3x6
Chest dips 3x6
Tricep extensions 4x6

Split 3 (fri):
Squats 5x5
Leg press 3x6
Seated calve rises 4x6
Clean and press 5x5
shoulder flies 3x6

I was thinking I'd now add in another workout day on Saturday, after legs, where I'd do back/chest/arms mixed. What do you think?

As for non-weight training days.. I'll add in some light morning jog/abs workout.

Other supplements i have at home:
BCAA, Leucine, Glutamine, Glycine, green tea extract, Scivation Dialene 4x, Yohimbine HCL.

I'll take the amino acids on non-training days when I do fasted cardio.
I'm always taking green tea extract in the morning, so that will stay.
Last 30 days I think I'll add in Dialene 4x to aid fat loss. Yohimbine HCL I currently won't play with (Dialene 4X has it anyways).

Any recommendations/comments are appreciated!

Started the cycle on monday, so that's 4 days now. Not really feeling anything, I think anything so soon would be placebo anyway:).
However, it seems to me I get energy boost after I take 5AT.

I also started Yohimbine HCL - 16mg daily split in two doses. One in the morning before (really easy) fasted cardio and one at around 3pm...I take it with guarana (approx 150mg caffeine) and green tea extract.
I'm sweating basically all the time with this. I'm thinking I will run this combo through the whole 8 week cycle... but not sure as I've found conflicting advice on how to cycle these compounds (from 4 days on-3 days off... to 12 weeks on... 3 weeks off).

I'll stay on clomid during the cycle, but switched to 25mg E3D. Problem is that you cannot just go cold turkey on clomid, cause it might shut down HTPA. After doing some research I found that clomid might even be beneficial if run during a mild cycle like this. Will see.

Yohimbine tends to make people retain water. So appropriately assessing fat loss progress can be difficult on extended runs. I would come off periodically.

These prohormones will suppress your hpta regardless of if you stop Clomid or not. The Clomid may help retain some level of intratesticular testosterone however.
 
Into 4th week now.
Don't really know what to think of it.

Weight has gone up approx. 4 pounds, though strength didn't really increase much. I'm up on some lifts, other is same.
I do stronglifts 5x5 type of progression.. once I lift something for full intended reps I go with more weight next time, but simply stuck on some weights.
I noticed no sides or anything. Currently on 6 caps a day of AM and 3 of 5AT.
I guess I'll up my calories on rest days and see how it goes. Still got bit more then 4 weeks left.
 
How many calories over your baseline are you?

Weird how one day scale shows 208lbs (4 more) and next day 201lbs, about the same as I started. Maybe the scale was actin up.

I'm eating around 3.400 kcal on training days and 2400 on non-training. By calculations...
My BMR is 1950kcal and TDEE is 2600.

Hmm..

Maybe the fat intake for the cycle was too high? I would keep it around 150ish, and bump up the carbs to 300+. Or even play around with those figures..

Maybe eating less on non training days has impacted your results. Those are the days you want to be eating like a pig, (up the complex carbs)

Not trying to nit pick just trying to think of ways to help out in the future.
 
I'd keep the calories steady on training daily and off days. Your muscles could potentially still be repairing/building for 48-72hrs. Off day eating is important too. Try ~3000 everyday, maybe a tad higher. Maybe less on Sunday, if you really wanted.





I ran this cycle a few months ago. Around mid 2nd week it was like it just kick in one day. Immediately added 10-15lbs to my major lifts and slowly added a few more throughout the cycle. It was the previous version of AM, the liquid caps. Have a bottle of the newer tablets here, waiting. :)
 
Damn, your story sounds very similar to mine...Around low levels of test and lower LH and FSH...Im thinking about running this next year around end of january for 4 weeks., Im coming off a natadrol run soon so I want to wait a bit before diving in..I would plan on using reboot + DAA for PCT.

Would anyone think It would be beneficial to use this stack from for a recomp so for instance adding cardio and eating around maintenance or would I be better off just straight out bulking and trying to keep gains clean
 
A recomp would be fine I did many! A bulk will obviously net more size though.
 
Thanks Harbonah, you've given some great info lately. It's looking like I might do a recomp in the winter, earlier next year, looking forward to trying out the forerunner products! No mattter what Ill be sticking to the bottle directions and keeping it at 4 weeks but I'm still hesitant to start anything without a SERM at the moment, no matter how mild. So if I get one I'll stack if not, well there still might be the chance I'll hit up one of the forerunner products but solo and go for just the otc reboot
