Allmax Isoflex Protein Bars

Anyone use these? I purchased a box of 12 for $36 CDN (rather pricey, now I remember why i always avoided protein bars before) and they are really tasty, but I am concerned with the amount of carbs in them. I love the fact that they have 30 grams of protein in them (apparently) but they also have 310 calories and I believe it was around 32 grams of carbs or so......

Are these going to cause me problems if I am trying to lean out a bit? Or are they relatively guilt free provided I consume AT MOST 1 a day (most likely one every 2-3 days since they are so damn pricey).

If anyone has any other protein bar recomendations, feel free.

Protein bars are just candy bars with protein.

yep...

i have personally used the allmax isoflex bars... they were very very good but as T-bone said, i wouldnt use them if you are trying to lean out... they are almost enough cals to substitute a meal but they are inefficient...

good luck buddy

oh, any suggestions for a snack that would take place of the bars on the go?

Cause they sure are convenient.....

I like the tyson pre-cooked chicken tah-tahs and the drumsticks are also good. You can usually find them at Wal-Mart. Lately they have been disapearing for some reason. I usually can only find the whole chickens. The boobies come with one "set" per package. The drumsticks come with 4, I think...

lol boobies :)

Ok, so pre-cooked chicken is one.

I just thought of beef jerky. And I suppose I could just plan a bit better and bring egg salad or tuna salad with me.

Sucks about the bars though....I won't buy them again but MAN they're tasty! And convenient.

Don't get me wrong, once in a while they are not bad...But don't buy a box of them, thats asking for it if you know what I mean....Try hard boiled eggs for a snack, they are pretty good if you don't over cook them like most people do. If the yolks have a greenish color on the outside of them they are over-cooked. For tuna I like the yelowfin with olive oil, it has a brown label on it. Its the best tuna!.

Hold on to them and by all means if your in a complete jam dont be afraid (last case scenario of course) or even you could use them as a cheat thing if they really taste great.

Personally if I need to use a protein bar (if I want a tasty treat or maybe once in a while on a bulk) I love Pure Protein Bars and IMO there on the lesser evil side when it comes to protein bars and strawberry shortcake is delicious (also make cookie dough and other awsome flavors)
