SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Legal Newsline) - The maker of a whey protein product is being sued over allegations that its label was misleading to consumers.

Todd Smith filed the lawsuit on May 14 in U.S. District Court in California against Allmax Nutrition IsoFlex, claiming the company advertised that its products had NOS Complex and Glutamine Complex.

The two are free-form amino acids, but after the products were tested neither amino acid was detected, the lawsuit said.
The lawsuit also stated the packaging claimed the Glutamine ingredient aids in recovery after workouts, but one study showed the amino acid didn't affect muscle protein kinetics.

Overheard @ Allmax.

"well, we know glutamine is pretty worthless but if we don't put added glutamine on the label nobody will buy it. " :D

^^lol...Probably happened a while ago but didn't notice, but I see they are no longer a sponsor here...oooooh

Allwhey and Hexapro were found to be products loaded with lower grade BCAA's/Taurine/Glycine to boost protein intake.

Allwhey: Tri-Stage Whey Protein Matrix [WPC80 (Microfiltered Whey Protein Concentrate [80%]), WPI90 (CTP Whey Protein Isolate [90%]), WPI97 (Hydrolyzed Ultra Filtered Whey Protein Isolate (Low Molecular Weight Whey Peptides)], Tri-Amino Recovery Blend (Taurine, Glycine, Creatine Monohydrate)..

Hexapro (also has a spiking lawsuit pending): HEXAPRO™ 6-Protein Blend (Whey Protein Concentrate [WPC 80%, Cold-Temperature Processed, Cross-Flow Microfiltered], Milk Protein Isolate [80% Casein: 20% Whey], Whey Protein Isolate [WPI 90%, Cold-Temperature Processed, Cross-Flow Microfiltered], Micellar Casein [MC 90%, Undenatured], Egg Albumin, Hydrolyzed Whey), HEXAPRO™ AminoPlex (L-Glycine, L-Taurine, L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine)

The supplement store I work at just got the new Hexapro. New label with no glycine or taurine. I also believe they no longer state the concentrate is WPC 80. Must of needed to cut costs.

My eyes, that complaint looks like it was written by a first year law student.

I'll read the facts tomorrow. It'd be interesting to see Allmax answer. Probably won't see it until day 60

Also the class action needs to be certified first. It's nothing yet
