Alka-Seltzer and blood doping???

I just saw a commercial for Alka-Seltzer and thought:

"hmmm...alka?...alkaline?...acid neutralizer?...acid buffering?...lactic acid buffering?"

Here's a little R&D for ya...

Take 2 tabs of alka-seltzer (flavored in some way) along with about 1/8 cup of baking soda (the flavored alka-seltzer would help with the salty taste of the baking soda I think) ...put this in about 12oz of water...

AND WAMMO!! blood doping heaven (but this is just a hypothesis)

I say use the 1/8 cup of baking soda for the first couple of times you try this procedure so you can become semi-accustomed to the taste of it..and then gradually work your way up to the 1/4 cup (quarter cup is what YJ recommends anyway ;) )

Thoughts? Opinions?

Heres a little info on the molecular weight of sodium bicarbonate

Molecular Weight: 84.01

Solubility in Water: See figure 2
Solubility in Alcohol: Insoluble
Loss on drying: not more than 0.25 percent by weight.

The problem I can see with this is sterilization if no alcohol can be used.

Comments PLEASE!!!!!

Edit: Impurities:

Sulfate: 150 ppm as SO4 Max.
Chloride: 150 ppm as Cl Max.
Arsenic: 2 ppm Max.
Heavy metals: 5 ppm Max.

I don't know if that arsenic level is dangerous. Here is a study on arsenic in drinking water and long term effects.

" These results suggest that ingestion of arsenic-contaminated well water may cause deleterious effects by increasing the level of reactive oxidants and decreasing the level of antioxidant capacity in plasma of individuals. Persistent oxidative stress in peripheral blood may be a mechanism underlying the carcinogenesis and atherosclerosis induced by long-term arsenic exposure."

Okay I've got my act together a little and have questions for you guys.

Anyone know a plasma half life of sodium bicarbonate? (this could probably be obtained if you have access to medical journals... it is used to neutralize acid levels in blood for kidney dialisis patients)

Is it soluable in Oil?

(Edit; New info) Oral: Rat, median lethal dose 4220 mg/kg.
