Every time I go out. The day after at the gym the blokes. Tell me how bad it is for muscle building but when I ask. Why it is so bad they dont have the answer. So what does it really do ?

Alcohol is nothing but empty calories from carbs (for the most part), eleveates your estrogen levels, and taxes your liver. I'm not against a drink here and there with a meal (for the most part), but drinking to excess is a great way to put a week's worth of work right down the ****ter.

suppresses your natural production of testosterone.. disrupts your sleep cycle which ****s up recovery time.... is nothing but empty calories in likely excessive amounts.. dehydrates and makes you lazy and not feeling optimal the next day

although if you're fit.. and in a maintaining stage.. you can get away with getting white boy wasted a few times a month...

I absolutely believe you can fit a moderate amount of alcohol into the diet and still make good gains in the gym. The key is always the amount. If your looking to get drunk and get fit, well that's another thing all together. Good post though.

i agree, it's more difficult if you're trying to cut.. tho also very possible cause i've done it. But you just end up getting less returns for your output.

and in addition, for me at least.. any thing i do i go balls to the wall all out..i'm better at it when i'm simply in maintenance mode

The thing is Im 24 and enjoy going out. Im trying to cut down. And since I stopped geting smashed every weekend pepoel think ive start taken juice. Cause my gains have come on strong ive. Gone from shoulder pressing 34 kgs dumbell to 44 kgs. And dont know if its cause Im not drinking

maybe not *all* from that, but it will contribute significantly, alcohol also leeches vitamins out of your system as well, I mean your body just works a lot better when its not saturated with booze from a night of binging.

drink in moderation... its not going to kill your muscle.... think of how many nfl athletes and college athletes consume alcohol IN SEASON lol....

stressing over stuff like this is going to kill muscle more than anything

The only time I think drinking is straight f*cking retarded is when you are on a cycle of strong 17aa orals. Otherwise, a drink or two every now and then with your friends won't kill ya.

Stick to the hard liquor if you're going to drink. No sense in slamming back beer after beer of useless calories when you can slam a couple shots and get the same effect.

Note: I rarely drink alcohol. I like my body to stay hydrated.

Yeah makes sense. To cut down drinking. Always feel smaller next day just going to now and again. Want some abs again :-D
