ALA worth the cost?

I just started a T1 cycle, and am considering adding ALA to the stack. From what Ive read, Id need nearly 4g a day to see maximum benefits. Is it worth the cost? ($80+ for 8weeks)

Thanks

4grams seems a bit much -- you probably dont want to start at this dose... i think 2 grams is effective (i could be wrong) ALA is usually used for cutting. I just started ALA at 750mg-1000mg a day, funny the bottle says take 50mg-100mg a day.

interested to read what experineced ALA users have to say...

4g/day sounds a little high IMO, most people who are serious with it approach 2g I believe, I usually hit 1g daily myself... not too bad this way, I just buy it at Wal Mart, about as cheap as you'll find it I think... this should prolly be in supps forum, but yeah, you might check the other ALA threads in there, some good feedback here and there, more input definitely wouldn't hurt though.

Thanks for the replies..

I got that figure from another thread on this board, where the max effective dosage of racemic ALA was ~11 grams per gram of carbs, as long as the total carbs per meal didnt exceed 108g. Im bulking and getting about 400g carbs a day, so I just figured 4000mg ALA.
Thanks for the heads up, though, I definately wouldnt want to over do it!

Thanks

Depends if you're using racemic or r-ala, and if you're using it for glucose control or a general anti-oxident. I personally don't think it's worth the $$, although if r-ala comes down in price I'll stock up. Dosages seem to run from about 1.5 - 3g daily for racemic and about 1g daily for r-ala, but that is a rough figure. Some guys take 100mg r-ala per meal and that seems to work well also. There's alot of research about this, and try PM'ing Bobo, he knows this stuff inside and out. Hope that helped some :)

Yes its worth it but watch for S-ALA-related-fat deposits (ALA-GUT). Only a few get it and I was one of the unluckly.

these huge pumps during cutting periods from ALA people have been talking about -- is that from standard ALA?

I think Ill hold off on it for now...dosent seem to add too much benefit while bulking. As a general anti-oxidant, VitaminC is a hell of a lot cheaper...

I wish users were more willing to post feedback...I'm going to have to start a new feedback section on the site.

That's a good idea, a central place for feedback on the products, something very easy to use and post to.
