Aging well?

so so wrong....

I just got some CBD isolate. I want to take it orally. What do you suggest I use as a method? Spoon seems a little large. I have been using Charlotte’s Web, which works great, but is rather expensive. I am hoping the isolate will be as effective but less expensive and more versatile.

Let me know what you think.

Is it crystalline brick or powder or is it sublingual in solution?

It’s fat soluble, use your mg scales and measure it out into some coconut oil or similar. :)

Interestingly enough, my order arrived yesterday, also. Damn good service from your recommendation, David Dunn

So it has to be measured precisely? Any way to ball park it, you know, like a pinch or something? Can the small amount of powder be dissolved sublingually?

Well.. I bought the same product as you.. the dose I’d suggest is 25mg. A small pinch is kinda close.

Here’s my eyeball hint for you. Vitamin tablet for scale.

Okay.. so I have finally hit 100 posts and can post links now.. I have a small mountain of CBD research >100 studies, mostly cancer related. I think it would be smarter if a create a new thread for it, where everyone else can add to it?

The only real issue I can think of as a drawback to getting older is grey hair is not appealing to women other than the salt/pepper CEO look. But grey body(chest), pubic hair-forget it. Have to be clean shaven everywhere now. Admit it knocks 10+ years off in terms of age perception.

yeah...i knock ALL the hair down. Being a bear is unbecoming and a grey one even less...

Don’t know about pubic hair-shaving wasn’t a thing in my day. I do know that if a chest has some muscle on it and a little gray, any women over 45 worth having is gonna love it.

I'm 39, about to hit 40 in a month. I'd say I look about 32. Give or take. I eat like ****, and exercise sporadically. My main workout is push-ups--4 or 5 sets of 100. I'm 6' 1", about 195 lbs. I'm half Korean, half Irish. I don't know if the Asian accounts for my youthful appearance, or if it's the fact that I've lived in Hawaii for the past 15 years, where there is no pollution. I definitely get plenty of sun, so I know that plays little to no effect on my aging process. My brother is only 9 1/2 months older than me, but he looks like he's in his mid-forties. But he also lives in smog-laden California, and has about 400 kids, which must factor in to an extent. I also smoke cigarettes, which is supposed to prematurely age people. My point is, the experts don't know ****, and if you want to slow the aging process, move to Hawaii!

Now thats Irish twins!
Kids definitely age you, so does marriage...
I think its a wifes duty to slowly kill you.

Not my experience. I had 4 boys and the youngest were 13.5 months apart. Good times, which past all too quickly. Wife is still stunning at age 62, ( I know that a lot of you young guys can imagine the word stunning and 62 in the same sentence but, trust me, it’s a thing) and sex 3 to 4 times per week at age 64 keeps me young.

Get your kids under control and get a new wife if needed.

I have turned 32 this year.. Which alot of folk fear.. Hitting thier 30's. I personally was on this boat.. When i look at old photos of myself going back as far as my late teens.. Early 20's.. I personally think im far better looking as i have aged? Of course i show signs of aging.. Grey'n hair. Slight crows feet etc but i like all these characters of my look? I haven't even really tampered with myself.. Alot of my mates have dipped into the botox scene etc.. Thats not for me personally. I only keep my hair short and i try get as much sun as i can.. Holidays and summer etc.. The sun in moderation is healthy i reckon. Its when overdone problems arise.

Im also very active.. Home gym i hit about 5 times a week.. I cycle most days.. Diet is so so.. I will indulge at times but my body has grown over the years. I also think the simple things play a part and for me that is... Drinking water 4+ litre everyday without fail.. I think that has a huge impact on your look as you age.

Anyone on the same boat as me? I feel healthier in my 30's than i ever did in my 20's.. I get alot more attention also and this has gave me extra confidence.

We all age.. Is part of being alive. Im just gonna keep training and hopefully i keep my appearance for many a years to come  Just wondered if anyone just lets thier body clock tick and not tamper with themself's too much?

I'm over 40 and in the best shape of my life. Intermittent fasting (20/4) and a 10-day water fast once every year does the trick. I look 29 and the women I date are in the under-30 age group. My bloods are perfect and my total T sits around 850-950 with 15 mg EOD of toremifene to guarantee this.

As an aside: A 10-day water fast once per year guarantees you will never get cancer.

Let's get more information on people's tips inregards to looking youthful

Anti-Aging supplements
Skin care? I dont use it, but I'm considering it now at my age.

Someone mentioned the constant stimulating of mTOR ages?

Best skin care is to stay out of the sun during peak UV intervals

Otherwise, genetics, lack of stress and hydrate extensively.

Appears there is such thing. Too bad you went all girly passive aggressive in your response instead of just coming out and saying "my error bro."

You posted a link to a website, and not even a scientifically-credible one, without giving any actual feedback of your own. This demonstrates you clearly have no understanding of the subject matter you're attempting to discuss, since you have to use someone else's words to defend your position.

Check out the work of Dr. Jason Fung. He has demonstrated that essentially zero muscle is lost during fasting due to the growth hormone starvation response. Only when adipose tissue is fully depleted does muscle loss begin.

But you already knew that since you're clearly an expert in human physiology. Only such an expert would post a link to someone else's article, without presenting any independent thoughts of his own.

Right?

Evidence.

Why isn’t this implemented from toddlers until adults? Water fasting could eliminate cancer!

Study Conducted by USC's Norris Cancer Center
Published in 2012 in the Science Translational Medicine journal

Key findings:

1. Fasting sensitizes cancer cells, but not normal cells, to toxins (including chemotherapy drugs)

2. Fasting reduces insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels, where IGF-1 inhibits apoptosis and protects cancer cells from chemotherapy

3. Fasting retards tumor growth, and two cycles of fasting have been shown to be just as or more effective than two cycles of chemotherapy,

4. In a model of metastasis, fasting alone was 50% more effective than chemotherapy, and the combination of chemotherapy and fasting reduced the incidence of metastasis by 75%

5. Cancer cells are unable to adapt to the extreme metabolic environment (sharp reduction in glucose and growth factors) caused by fasting, leading to DNA damage and cell death of these cancer cells, while normal cells are able to quickly adapt to this extreme environment, specifically, by using alternative sources of fuel, such as fatty acids and ketones, which are sharply elevated during conditions of fasting

6. This study concluded that multiple cycles of fasting could potentially replace certain chemotherapy drugs in the treatment of various cancers.

There are numerous other studies as well, and really this concept is extremely basic human physiology. I've directly studied this topic, including experimentally, for more than 10 years:

1. Fasting triggers ketosis

2. More than 90% of cancer cell-types are only able to utilize glucose as fuel and "starve" to death under conditions of ketosis

3. Fasting triggers autophagy

4. Autophagy directly destroys cancerous cells, including ones that can utilize ketones as fuel, while simultaneously protecting normal cells

5. A 72 hour fast completely regenerates the entire immune system

6. Longer fasts produce more profound levels of autophagy and can destroy even metastatic tumors

7. Fasting directly spares muscle via the "growth hormone starvation response" so long as visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue is available for use as fuel

But what do I know? I'm just a random guy on a message board.

It should be part of everyone’s health regimen and is in many cultures. Spurfy’s claims are big but they make sense if you understand autophagy. I still think someone could give themselves cancer f they worked at it tho. High water consumption and fasting are the two most simple ways to stay healthy that people underestimate

Sure, but they could then simply fast the cancer to death -- there is literally no physiologic way that cancer cells can survive during periods of prolonged fasting. There is significant emerging evidence, in fact, that in prolonged fasting during cancer, the cancer cells themselves are actually broken down for use as a source of amino acids.

Makes sense. The body will use nonessential cells for gluconeogenesis

Well spurfy here has the cure for cancer. I like the humility though..,you know keeping it down low on message boards so the world doesn't find out.

I'll let the families of my friends who have died from cancer know how simple it would have been...

But spurfy keeps it a secrete...until know...

That seems counterproductive and sort of cruel to do. Why don’t you tell your friends that are still alive with cancer about this powerful knowledge?

It's hardly a secret. It's been well-known and discussed in published studies for more than 10 years.

Spurfy ... I would be interested in hearing your anti aging/health/well being regimen?

I'll give away some of it, but I have to save some secrets for my book...

1. A 10-day water fast once per year
2. 2.5 mg of selegiline with coffee + coconut oil + heavy cream every morning
3. High saturated fat + low sugar/starch diet
4. Lots of sunlight or 600,000 iu of vitamin D + 500 mcg K2, during winter months
5. Avoidance of all products produced with RoundUp, and avoidance of all non-organic produce
6. No soy unless fermented
7. A very heavy daily load (50 BB CFU) of mixed probiotic strains

600k iu vit d ?! Is that daily?

Isn’t anything over 30k iu daily considered toxic ~ the build up of calcium in your blood.

Writing a book?

With wife, kids, and a career... my days of using AAS are long gone. My concerns at this point in life are health and longevity. But, I’ve read some of your posts on Anavar that have piqued my interest. Sounds like maybe you can have your cake and eat it too?

I’m in the exact same boat :)

Writing a book?

Indeed

I'm a middle-aged father with a hectic 50-hour/week career. I get it.

Honestly, if you stick to just Var and Torem (or Clomid), you can do a whole lot with what little free time you have to make it work and essentially without any health risks.

Been following this. While the water fast is without doubt very beneficial, there are no guarantees that it will prevent cancer. Chances are that anyone who has the persistence to do such a fast will be leading a lifestyle that is cancer preventing and have less of a chance of avoiding cancer. To say that is guarantees never getting cancer is simply not true.

You mean it's not true because you've never heard of it? That's a pretty egotistical view.

Here:

Fasting and Caloric Restriction in Cancer Prevention and Treatment.
"periodic fasting (PF), fasting-mimicking diets (FMDs), and dietary restriction (DR) without a reduction in calories are emerging as interventions with the potential to be widely used to prevent and treat cancer."

Annual Fasting; the Early Calories Restriction for Cancer Prevention
"removal of cancer stem cells can be carried out through early Calories Restriction with Annual Fasting (AF) before tumor development or progress."
Bioimpacts. 2012; 2(4): 213–215.

Fasting Cycles Retard Growth of Tumors and Sensitize a Range of Cancer Cell Types to Chemotherapy
"These studies suggest that multiple cycles of fasting promote differential stress sensitization in a wide range of tumors and could potentially replace or augment the efficacy of certain chemotherapy drugs in the treatment of various cancers.

Study #2 clearly demonstrates that fasting has the potential to prevent cancer. Moreover, there are additional on-going studies I am aware of being conducted with a high cancer-risk population sample comparing periodic fasting to non-fasting, which are intended to demonstrate that fasting prevents cancer.

Can’t you die after just a week without water?
Without water yes... Its Very dangerous to go without hydration. He talking about a water fast where you drink water only.

I believe the water helps further facilitate healing and cleansing while fasting.
