i guess i got vitor mixed up with matt linland or sobral because i was wondering why those little guys faught fedor. damn wikipedia hahaha

anyways barnett isj ust as good at passing steroid tests as he is beating cro cop.
 
This really sucks! I was looking forward to the PPV, Number 1 vs Number 2. Fedor gets some quick cash against the unlucky guy they get to fight him.

The Aug. 1 "Affliction: Trilogy" event, which lost its main event earlier this week when headliner Josh Barnett was denied a licensed due to a failed drug test, has been canceled.

It's unknown if today's cancellation resulted from the simply loss of its "Trilogy" main event or if it underscores more serious troubles for the upstart promotion.

Just means Fedor will need a new home sooner than later... He's gonna be on the next ultimate fighter. see the zany antics when someone steals Fedor's issue of spetnaz magazine.
 
eliteXC hahah based their promotion off a fighter. they have good names jsut not enough. im mad i wanted to see all these fights.

In a sea change for the promotional landscape of mixed martial arts, Affliction has agreed to cease promoting fights and become an official sponsor of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports first reported the news on Friday afternoon, and a UFC official confirmed the report to MMAWeekly.com.

A joint announcement between the Las Vegas-based promotion and California-based clothing maker is expected soon.

Few details about the deal are known, but the popular clothing brand could be seen on Zuffa fighters as soon as Aug. 8, when UFC 101 lands in Philadelphia.

A similar deal was first proposed last October after the postponement of Affliction’s second event, “Day of Reckoning.” Executives from the UFC and Affliction met in secret in Las Vegas and offered to take Affliction on as a sponsor and co-branded apparel maker in exchange for ceasing to promote fights. Affliction executives rejected the offer after a fiery confrontation between co-founder Todd Beard and UFC co-owner Lorenzo Ferttita.

The fate of fighters marooned by Affliction’s cancellation of its third show, “Trilogy,” is unknown at this time.

This could be a nice first step, however: I think there is equal possibility of the UFC sequestering Affliction's contracts as there is liquidating them entirely. However, if the former occurred, we would have disgusting LHW and HW divisions in the UFC!
 
I predict a UFC Hotel & Casino/conjoining Sports Arena by 2016, and a title change where Dana demands to be called, Dear Leader a la Kim Jung Ill.
 
wow they went under before dream hahaha. i cant believe it. another fight promotion WRECKED by one fighter! this is insane. what if they redo the test and they messed up hahah omg. the UFC is going to be even more stacked. someone needs to make a run at the 185 belt now.

I dig your call about a hotel and area thats good sh!t right there.

do you think they would put fedor against lesner right away?

some might go over sea's and some to strikeforce. ill be sad if strikeforce goes under.

Nick diaz needs to be champ over there or come back to the ufc.
