Imagine having 80lb dbs at your disposal, but not being able to squat the pair of them for your sets of 12, AND contemplating 5-6ccs/wk of combined Tren & DHB your next run.
The myopia is truly astounding.
The desk girl sets the alarm off on me all the time so she can get my attention lol.It highly depends on the location and the people who work there! I went one time and left because they blared the alarm because I **** you not I was doing isometric contractions after my lifts!?? Yes they alarmed me because I was "flexing"!!! I'll never go back again luckily I was just with a friend who worked out there but she was a heavy lifter but it was close to her house and what not?
yea fuk this guy. I can't believe what an absolute douche bag this a$$hole is. step back jack! hes pressing 60 lb dumbbells~!
It's pronounced my-o-pea-a, it's French for a whale's vaginamyopia: new cool kids word, OP betta recognise!~

There's no rule against flexing lol. If the person set the alarm off for that they just didn't like you or something.
There's like 20 highschool kids flexing and taking pictures every time I've ever been there. If they did that to these kids the alarm would go off every Saturday morning for 2 hours straight lol
Lol, one of these days I'm gonna walk in dressed like a 90's bodybuilder with a stringer, spandex pants a bandana and some work boots. I'm gonna have a gallon water jug and I'm gonna grunt and flex between every set. If they come over to say something I'm going to ask them why they are judging me in the judgment free zoneSo again it depends on locations because I do know a planetfitness near me that is supposedly pretty decent but one I went to they absolutely told me there is no flexing allowed! They called it showcasing lol although they didn't use that word talking to me but here is from the planet fitness website...
Lunk-like actions include behaviors such as:
Grunting - Excessively loud displays of effort including grunting, yelling, groaning
Dropping weights - Intentionally dropping weights to the ground after the last rep of a set
Showcasing - Flexing, strutting, or making an effort to attract attention
Judging - Mocking, criticizing, or making negative comments related to another person's appearance, experience, ability, knowledge of equipment, etc.
The Lunk Alarm® is a siren used to enforce our Judgment Free® policy. The Lunk Alarm® helps maintain a Judgement Free® atmosphere by stopping a Lunk® in his/her tracks.
What I find ridiculous is that judging IS allowed if the other person is a "lunk" lol. I just think it depends on the staff at that particular planet fitness with some being OK and others a total mockery of actual fitness centers!!!
A few years ago there was a very fit looking woman who was kicked out of a planet fitness because a overweight 50-year-old lady said looking at her makes her self conscious and uncomfortable. Something like thatInvalid Link Removed
That’s just unreal…..yeah there are a lot of stories out there like that, and the rules do seem to change from one gym to the next. It’s like the employees get to decide rules and who they are going to enforce them on.A few years ago there was a very fit looking woman who was kicked out of a planet fitness because a overweight 50-year-old lady said looking at her makes her self conscious and uncomfortable. That’s absolutely unreal…..yeah I know some guys that may be their only option, but no thank you. I need my freedom when I workout….it’s supposed to be stress relief as well as getting in good physical shape, I don’t need no drama in the gym.I’ll never pay a dime to a Planet Fitness. A police officer at a neighboring agency I work at went in the local planet fitness to add his wife to their membership. He was in uniform and they asked him to leave because he had a gun. Well no **** Sherlock cops carry guns. This was about 4 years ago. Fukk them.

Yep, totally agree….when there’s a will there’s a way. And there’s so much out there now that it’s pretty easy to put together a pretty decent home without spending too much money. If people want to go to PF I think it’s great to hear they are lifting, but I want them to know it’s never the only option - just maybe the best one for them.
When everything locked down for COVID, I scoured to by some used weights and trained in our tiny apartment’s living room & outside the building. If you can’t do that, you can take some plates and a barbell in your car (I can do this in my little compact car even with the barbell passed through folded down back seats up to the armrest) to an empty parking lot/cul de sac and lift somewhere in/outside your town.
If you cannot afford any weights at all, not even some bands and a kettlebell, you can do workouts on park equipment and/or bodyweight work. You can find rocks to lift. Trees to do pull-ups from. You can make homemade sandbags or fill an empty $30 used keg from a liquor store with water, sand, gravel. Or fill gallon jugs with rock for light dbs.
The only limits are your desire, drive, & ingenuity!

That’s actually really cool.During Covid my city actually built an outdoor gym which was pretty sweet. It had amazingly not just jungle gym bars but had these machines that had no moving parts it worked by tightening a knob which I found very interesting. It had a chest press/fly, pull down, leg press and it had an elliptical and one of those arm cardio machines with the pedals!
As much as I hate my State closed down the gyms I did appreciate my city trying to make up for it with that workout park!!! I live in a very freedom oriented state though?
