Hey guys my dad has decided to get serious about lifting and wants to do a cut first. He has not had any prior experience in bodybuilding.

His stats:
Age: 46
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 170
Bodyfat: about 20-23%
Bodytype: Endo-mesomorph

He currently runs on the treadmill 4 days a week and lifts maybe 3 days a week but soon he will start lifting more often. What kind of diet do you guys suggest such as macros and calorie intake? Which supplements do you recommend? He prefers to stay natural but may turn to some "not so natural" supplements/anabolic if need be. Thanks

Nothing out of the ordinary in supplementation for now since he is a Middle Aged beginner. First of all get his diet in check, if you want you can post it up in the Nutrition forum and we can help.

At his age I think the main concern would be:

-Lower testosterone levels
-Joint Issues
-Metabolic Rate issues
-Energy and Motivation issues.

So once you get his diet in check...He could check out first the basic staples, then look for a good stimulant he can tolerate, and then we help out with natural hormonal supplement advice for his age. He actually is at the perfect age where people actually notice any real tangible benefit from Test Booster, Aromatize Inhibitors and Cortisol control agents. Like I said...First things first, diet, training and preferably a check up with his PCP to let us know if he has any pre-existing medical conditions so we can advise around or about them.
