Achieving Your Goal Physique: Your thoughts

Champ

Board Supporter
I've been obsessing over a long term goal of achieving the best developed frame and muscular physique for my body type over the past two months.

My bb history:

I serious started weight training back in 98. Back then I had little knowledge of importance of diet however I was somewhat knowledgeable of the fundamentals of form and proper technique while training. I consider myself the average Joe in terms of doing off and on "inconsistent" training since 98 with 6 to 8 months of training, then I'd drop out of the gym for 6 months to a year.

Now:

Here it is 2007 and I have a renewed commitment of wanting to achieve the look I've always wanted before leaving this earth. I turn thirty next month and the question of "will I ever make that goal" has been knawing at my brain. Whats different about this go'round is that in my mind, I am committed to this change as a long term goal and not something overnight. I've made this mistake in the past which has resulted in me quitting after 6 months or so.

My question to you veterans of this sport and lifestyle. For those who stay the course and whole heartedly persue the mission of becoming their personal best, what is possible in terms of a physique transformation. The reason I ask this question is that my body type is more like an average Joe.

My stats are:

228 lbs
BF: 18-20 percent
5'10"

Goals are:

208
BF: 9 percent year'round

I use this photo of Serge Nubret as my driving force of my inspiration. It is my personal best of where I want to go.

Finally my question to you gents is about the possibilities of ones physique. Given the natural limitations of a persons body and how they are structured...what are the possibilities?

The photos I have posted are ones beginning and one month following my start. I myself personally notice little change, probably b/c I spend too much time in the mirror monitoring.

I'm picking up a trainer here in Colorado by the name of Skip, owner of intensemuscle.com, to focus on the task of leaning out my physique to 9 percent bodyfat. After accomplishing that, I will focus on building a more solid, meat'ier frame.

What are your thoughts, insights, and/or experience on the quest of obtaining a goal of this magnitude?

Thank you guys for your time and willingness in reading this lengthy message.
