Accutane while on TRT?

Is it ill advised to take accutane while on TRT?

Ive tried seriously nearly everything for back acne and no success. I know Accutane can mess with lipids so I was wondering: If I take a bout of accutane should I get off TRT? or stay on through the entirety of the accutane usage (7 months)?

have similar issue. I'm on TRT. My doctor has offered me accutane. I asked if it would effect my lipids and he said no, not to a large extent, but would check bloods anyway.
I find that doxycline also helps over a 3 month's course. That's another drug again though

Accutane can smash your lipids, I've seen it first hand. But I think Accutane is a last resort option and Doxycycline or similar antibiotic is the way to go. I actually keep a antibiotic on hand for when I start a cycle because my bacne flares up.

If any of you do go the Accutane route, I suggest a very low dose. I did 5mg a day for 6 months and side effects were zero.

On 20mg I felt like ****

I would still look for other options first but if all else fails, accutane should work.

But, Your post says is it still advised to take acutane, it's NEVER been advised by anyone who knows what there talking about until all else fails. Accutane is some toxic shitty stuff.

It's also a anti androgen, it does the opposite of testosterone. Aside from the typical side effects it can also cause joint and muscle problems, it can jack up your cholesterol and 30 PERCENT OF ACCUTANE USERS EXPERIENCED ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION. now to be fair I don't believe the participants were on testosterone but 30% is a risky number.

Start very low. Some ppl had permanent side effects from ACCUTANE but the numbers were very low on that.

Here is the thing, accutane can be life-changing if you actually need it, especially if it's bad on the face. I took it but at a low dose, because I didn't have the disfiguring/scarring type, i just had moderate but persistent acne that other treatments failed to fix. That said, if you need it, the benefit of what it can do for you would be worth anything. I'd even consider coming off TRT while on it, even if it meant test was in the basement, but if it means it would fix the skin.

Another option is this, strong variations of topical Retin-A will cause the same deep skin purge that Accutane does. You could go on topical Retin-A and clear out, and then go on a lower dose Tane and ride it out until clear. I did not have an IB on Tane because already went through it when I was on a retin. You might even find that retin works well enough and does not require tane.

How is it hard on the face?

holy **** LOL, that is hilarious, I will admit I have done this same thing with other questions / things.

I served with a sniper in Afghanistan that was an absolute unit...strong, lean, fast and jacked type. He ended up getting killed in a bad ambush. 4 years later one of our mutual buddies posted a tribute to him and I comment "dude was a beast", then like 5 years after that the post got reshared by the same guy (on this day type of thing). I literally go to the comment field and type "dude was a beast" and then I see that identical comment from myself like 5 years earlier. I laughed, but also thought man some people just have a trait that leaves an impact, and you never forget right? like in mind that is the first thing that will always pop in when his name comes up.

no, I mean if you have bad acne on the face, it can be really hard to get through life, Accutane has been nothing short of a miracle for some folks that have had some of the worst cases of acne I have ever seen. My point was, not only is it worth it to take, but it would even be worth stopping TRT for those few months if it were the better health decision because you can always restart TRT after, but the acne would be gone and if nothing else is working for the acne, **** that get the skin clear

Gonna be a rough year off TRT and on accutane

Dang, I didn't know and wasn't told about any of this, when I used it in my teens, lol. All good and in the past I guess, but the doc could've infomed me.

Did it permanently fix your acne? I ment to mention thos earlier but I must have forgotten. It helped my bacne and I get less now, but it definitely didn't fix it. Every cycle I still break out on my shoulders and back. But it's just not as bad as it used to be but it's definitely still a thing.

I would say somewhat or pretty much. Doesn't mean I still don't get some here or there and I do get those bad ones still from time to time, but only like 1 in a few years. Mainly on my back.

You can see my post on my experiences in the thread you linked. You know, where my replies are the first ones in the thread 😉
