Absolute "best bang for buck" supps

Not sure why I'm writing this because I use more than these things. I must be bored. Anyways, here are my ideas.

-Whey Protein - All The Whey or Optimum Nutrition
-Bulk CEE
-MultiVitamins - Equate Mature (very cheap, no iron, some extras)

Flax oil could be added, but may be too expensive compared to the others and the gains it offers. Not sure yet.

You could argue that multi vites don't belong here because you won't notice the effects, but they're just so damn inexpensive that I thought they deserved it. Could maybe add extra Vit C & E to the list.

Judging by actual muscle mass gained, I'm not sure if any supps come close to creatine & protein powder(banned PH & AAS aside).

Is there a fat burner I should add to the list? Maybe a really cheap preworkout stim? Anything else I'm missing?

Yeah regular creatine mono is a much better deal than CEE. If you respond to regular mono, theres just no use for CEE. Not that I care though, I am a non-responder. So I guess I'm just bored too.

I know I'm commiting a great sin for saying this but, I don't think a mutli-vit is all that important. Maybe it's just me cause I eat a lot of nutrient dense foods. I would go with

--Whey Protein Powder
--ALCAR
--Fish oil

I guess adding a green tea supp and k-r-ala would be nice but not necessary. I get by with just drinking green tea. ALCAR in my opinion is good enough to be a staple, what with all the proven benefits and for $55 kilo. At five grams per day it would last 200 days. People always put creatine in their "must have" lists, and I'm not saying it isn't useful, but compared to the plethora of benefits one can derive from ALCAR, fish oil, and whey, it just isn't up to par.

Multi - i dont eat right
Fish oils - men need more DHA
Creatine - needless to say
ALcar - brain food, pre workout
Caffiene - needless to say
Eph HCL - yummy
Lean Green ( green tea)- overall health,
Heat Stack - mood and cutting

just my opinions

Ephedrine HCL, Caffeine tabs, Green tea Extract for about 20 bucks a month.

Fish Oil concentrate

All the whey, of course ;)

and Bulk CEE.

Recently I'm taking Udo's Choice oil blend in place of flax, fish and sesathin. The amount of sesamin oil in it may not be too high, but i think it covers all the base needs.
I'm small and so i dont need a lot, so its not a big monthly expense for me.

No, I'm not joking. You've obviously not tried it, or you don't have any sleeping problems. For the past 15 years the only way I could get a good night's sleep is to get drunk or take a sleeping pill, neither of which is very fun. ZMA gives me a few good vitamins, and I sleep like a baby.

They say it raises test levels but for me it's the sleep benefit.

Try it, you'll see.

I second that.

I sleep good using ZMA.

My brother is having sleep problem also so I gave him a bottle of ZMA a while back and he just asked for another one.
Worked well for him too.

Since we're talking bang-for-buck here, we need to consider effects versus price. One reason I list ALCAR (a supp most would never consider as a staple) is because it has pages worth of benefits, including improved sleep and increased test levels, and a kilo goes for $55. That will last most of the year. ZMA is not worth money even for sleep benefits; and believe me, I JUST got over a year long struggle with insomnia (no medication for me). Zinc is effective though. So, you buy NOW Foods Opti-L-Zinc for $5 for 100 capsules. That will last more than 3 months and is a way better deal than supplements labled ZMA. You couls even throw in NOW Foods magnesium aspartate and some bulk B6 for extremely cheap. Getting more than 3 months worth of those ingredients should cost less than $10.

What I use now and think works well is 1 cap Opti-L-Zinc and 2-3 caps Solaray Sleep Blend SP-17.

I'm also going to have to disagree with ephedrine. Yes, it is dirt cheap and gets you jacked but it has only one function and that function doesn't exactly contribute to overall good health. Green Tea extract on the other hand functions as an energy enhancer, weight loss agent, antioxidant, and a few other things and can be gotten for rather cheap in bulk. So green tea definitely provides a powerful bang for the buck. I also don't see fiber supplementation as a candidate here since fiber can easily be gotten through the diet.

Okay, now that I've acted like a know-it-all prick I'll step back. This is me -->

I have to disagree with this point. Ephedrine and other sympathomimetics can help preserve muscle mass when your hormones are out of whack, which makes it very beneficial for PCT. Otherwise, I agree you can't stay on continually otherwise you risk burning out your adrenals.

Excellent point. You know, I thoght about this but I have no idea to what extent eph actually preserves muscle.

I agree that many of these supps that people have posted are great, and staples of my regime (Whey, multi, Healthy fats, etc.)...the question was for "best bang for your buck" so I would have to go with....

Bulk CEE
R-ALA or cheap K-R-ALA
ALCAR (although I can never use this again)

....and others Im sure I will think of....these are the kind of supps I can pick up all the time, work well, and dont break the fucking bank!

Just curious as to why you can't take the alcar anymore.

My top 3 would be:
ALCAR
ALA, or some other form of it
flaxseed oil, because its hard for me to get healthy fats in my diet.
If i had a limited income those supps would be the one's i would buy. A good bang for the buck.

...hahaha....

Pretty much for the fact that...if i do...no one will get near me...more than anything else I smell like ****....coworkers, friends....everyone avoids me....I nearly sharted the last time I took 2 grams at one time...

Green Tea/caffeine. Great stim w/out crash, and a good fat burner.

bump this :goodpost: with all the other health benefits of green tea this makes it a "must have" but i don't know if i'd put in the "supp" category though.

i also like to buy a kilo of high quality creatine & mix it with a cheap-as-hell brand that's half sugar. get great results every time.

other "must haves"

1. glucosamine
2. multi
3. fish oil
4. Vanadyl (recently added)

and

5. whey (although i don't consider this a supp either)

Sesathin, really? I'm shocked :rasp:

Actually, I agree... it's an excellent supp. Welcome aboard, PD.
