8333% RDA iodine

An alternative Dr. gave me this among many of his supplements. I complained about it being way way too high and he said his was different and as long as I used his iodine it was fine.

Anybody think this is safe? No side effects form an occasional dose.

Most recommendations are in mcg and this pill is 12.5 MG just like this one, looks the same too..

INGREDIENTS:
Serving Size: 1 Tablet Amount per Serving - %Daily Value
Total Iodine/Iodide 12.5 mg - 8333%.
Iodine 5 mg.
Iodide (as potassium salt) - 7.5 mg.
 
I showed it to my doctor who said he thinks nobody is iodine deficient. He did not say it would kill me either.
