6 Week Fat Loss Challenge

I have actually heard of people doing that. I went to years thinking you could not even P close to your stand, now I know that is not true. I've been in a stand pissing when I dear walks out, decisions decisions at that point
Better out than in my friend haha

Yeah, so, Yohimbine REALLY messes with me. It gives me chills and sweats and shakes, and I feel like crap. Plus, it gives me insane insomnia. First time I ever took Yohimbine was in college around 2000, I got a bottle of Yohimbine Fuel from Twinlab and stacked it with an ECA burner not knowing any better. I took my first dose around 3 PM because that's when I got the bottle. It was also the last dose I took out of the bottle. Each pill had 18 mg of yohimbine and I was up for 2 days, literally, couldn't even get to sleep the next night. I will just lay in bed staring at the ceiling. It kills me. But Alphaburn, especially after building a little tolerance, has none of these negative effects. It does stimulate me and I avoid it after 4-5 PM, but it's great in the morning for waking up.

Have a great time brother! I bet you can't wait. Some stuff is more important than the fat on your belly. I hope it is awesome. How is the foot doing?

And 184 when you started at 188 isn't too bad. If you got to 178-180 you would probably be ripped more than almost anyone here. Good work so far. I expect you to keep it up when you get back and when that boot comes off!

Thanks HIT4ME. I'll make 180, just not today! Still boot bound for probably another month, but it beats tearing my achilles tendon the rest of the way. I have the same problem as you, sitting on a pile of supps just waiting for a bulk. Can't wait to start the ArA / PA run

The scientific name for that is MATURITY
As I type this im listening to 2 owls call each other

Yeah, well, I wouldn't say I'm mature. I've avoided it this long I guess....I can hold out a bit longer, haha. Actually, I am realizing all the awesome places that the party-goers in high school had to hang out at night, I missed out, haha.

Im sure I know where that was done, and thats MILD to whats there now. Have me nervous though, in fixing to start my first run with yohimbe

Yes - and there was plenty worse stuff there at the time I did this too. But, most people were drinkers more than anything and I never got into drinking. I've always just been weird and boring. But I liked hanging out and watching people drink.

Start low with the Y. Some people react really well to it and love it, but if you are one of the people who can't tolerate it you will know pretty quickly. 1-3 mg doses to start is a good place. Even Y at 4 mg doesn't effect me all that much. Much more than that in a dose though and I'm screwed. The Alpha-Burn, I can take 2 pills at a time and I'm good. You will find a lot of people that love the stuff though. But you will find almost as many that react really badly to it, like me.

Yohimbe make me feel cooler but no bad reaction. I'm considering it's being coupled with an epinephrine type of stim.

As the per examine.com when looking up ECA or Yohimbe.

That's why I will start with one cap for a week at lunch and evaluate from there. I just finished a bottle of Yohimbe. Not bad really.

Again, a lot of people just handle it very well. Some not so much.

I will say, epinephrine is supposed to be an anti-depressant of sorts, but I have used Alpha-Y during periods of stress and anxiety and depression and it has a good mood lifting effect.

I know you'll keep at it. You didn't get where you are by not putting in the work. And if you decide to bulk, I know you will put the same effort in. Glad to have you here and glad you will get time with your family. A month isn't too bad...it will be over before you know it.

Good to know! Now I'm really looking forward to getting some of this in my system of a down and fly higher, and higher like an Eddie Van Halen solo.

Finger is still no Bueno guys, so, sorry, I couldnt lift just yet. We did play 1.5 hours of racquetball so I got my cardio in. Remember me saying my left knee felt so full of water I couldnt bend it to even 90 degrees? Well, I played anyway and was slow moving. Then I jumped to hit the ball, something in my knee popped...HARD... it hurt like hell for about 3 seconds and guess what? All of a sudden I could bend my knee. GAME ON!!! Ended up being a great game although the knee was a little sore. BUT I CAN MOVE IT!!!!

I wasn't feeling too well yesterday. Slight post nasal drip. Maybe allergies.
Dropped some vitamin c. Lots of water. Rest and good food.

It paid off today.
Best workout since I started.

Got some great samples yesterday. Trying out High Volume. Taste is great and am dosing it 1 hour prior to my workout with my usual suppspects.

Nicely done hombre

Weighed in today. 203.4. That's 4.6 down this week. Might go up next week with that kind of drop. Or it is partially last week's since I only lost 1 last week. Either way, I'll take it!

3.4 from the goal. CRAZY!

Some good work there bud. Especially in that time from. I find myself working in condensed time frames a lot...lol

Guys, I will try to do better the next time. Lol!Invalid Link Removed

Just pure drive and motivation right there. So impressive. I am hoping to work on my running and get to this point. I am starting to see it is necessary for my long term ability to stay lean.

That's how it goes, but you put in the work and you eventually got it. Great job brother.

So, guys, I have some bad news. We have our second quitter...after hairygrandpa . I've over extended and I've really worn myself out. I decided yesterday morning to lay off the cardio because I had some work to do cutting up trees and lugging the logs at my grandmother's house. It wasn't so bad, but after that I drove an hour and a half to go Apple picking with my gf and her daughter. We started walking and I felt really tired, dizzy, and like I could just go to sleep. After walking a while and picking Apple's, I thought, what the shell and just ate an Apple. It was good. I wound up having 3 apples and feeling much better.

Then today I realized I just need a break. I can't keep pushing and I need to take a step back to come back stronger.

So, today and last night I just took off. I would like to come back and give it another shot after maybe a week off. It is a tough challenge, and this is to be expected...I am disappointed that I don't think I can make the 6 weeks regardless of the goal and if I hit it or not, but I still have the same goals. I am disappointed that it will take me longer before I can start a bulk, but maybe this is just part of learning.

Do it like me, just do what feels right while watching calories. You came a very long way and you earned some rest, as long as you don't go full retard on the food now, lol!

Driving around all day pn a golf cart?

Yeah, I think it will be a week off. I kind of want to say less, but...it may be wise to just reset. It may also give me a chance to create a new set point since I seem to be stuck around 175-176 and then after losing a little, a single refeed day shot me right back there.

I think I may add in some MCTs and a little extra protein when I come back,, shoot for 1000-1200 calories but still do some running...but not as much as I've been doing. Maybe create a solid 1800 calorie day deficit.

Lol, yeah. In a gold cart, eating Apple's....but I friggin hate golf haha.

And I hate how my Kindle Fire thinks Apple is a proper name and capitalizes it every time. Haha

Brother, you've been killin it in here for weeks. I'm truly impressed with what you've accomplished!

The people from The Biggest Loser may disagree. But I believe that there is a point of diminishing returns for both caloric restriction and physical exertion. There comes a point where the simple math no longer works and "more" isn't necessarily benefitting you anymore. Sounds like you found that spot.

Take the time to reset physically and mentally and come armed with what you've learned. We'll be here waiting to cheer you on to the finish line, bro!

Thank you sir. I am not quitting entirely and I will be back if everyone will have me back in. I think the advantage if the biggest loser is that those people are 100% focused ...having to work a real life job, get things done for real life, etc, and fit in everything has its own difficulties and increases the exhaustion. If I could watch TV all day, and not worry about anything. ..walking in a treadmill while I did that all day would be easier. I think my 4000 calorie days were good for a huge deficit but they were just exhausting. A 3000 calorie burn should be much easier every day and if I take in 1200 calories doing that I should be able to keep pace.

Bro you've done great. Take a break and get back at it! You're better at cardio than I am for sure lol.

HIT4ME, youre wrong, in a couple ways. #1, youre not quitting if its just a break, and a well deserved break at that, youre already saying youll be back. #2, your work is nothing less than impressive, so youve come far enough in your journey that you can say...detour. Not quit. Im truly impressed and inspired by your work, and the motivation you push upon us, take what you need, just keep us in the loop

HIT4ME you rock. Nothing more needs to be said. No one here questions your dedication or abilities. We're all 100% sure that you'll return and crush it. Take whatever time you need, get back when you're ready.

Your locker still has your name on it last I checked. :) It's just a break. I took my last week of PCT to up calories a little, gained a few pounds, and now headed back down to the deep end. 205.5 > 209.5, and dropping to 208.5 and declining slow, but also gaining muscle.

To summarize my answer: Yes. As far as I am concerned, you're just giving your body a break. Maintenance calories ma man, then evaluate how you feel. Who cares if it takes 6; 8; 10 weeks? Listen to your body, and adjust accordingly.

having to work a real life job, get things done for real life, etc, and fit in everything has its own difficulties and increases the exhaustion. If I could watch TV all day, and not worry about anything. ..

My day job is just that. A distraction from lifting. :D I walk around work and daydream about my next lift, what to adjust, it's fab baby. -> A mental state of mind. <- necessary redundant statement. At this point in the process, I can be speaking to someone; trouble-shooting; answering questions and still be thinking about my lift. :D (It is what keeps me sane during the work day)

I don't worry about the calories. Eat satiating foods ma man. I don't even do cardio, as I'd rather superset here and there. I think you were pushing yourself far too much which wears the body and mind down. Zig Zag and be a moving target for exhaustion. Take the week and re-evaluate a new stragimification. <- New word, I think, but maybe the "Bowery Boys" said it first. Who gets that reference?

Repeat: Keep us looped in.

Speaks for me 100% with that statement for suresies!

Alright it is crunchtime week. I ended up eating at maintenance all weekend because I had to really figure out some macros because I was at the Race Track all weekend (car racing). I'll be keeping you guys updated mostly if I go off track or not.

Bro you've done great. Take a break and get back at it! You're better at cardio than I am for sure lol.

Thanks to all you guys, I can't give up on myself. I really appreciate the support. This is harder than it looks. I can't imagine someone getting ready for a contest. It feels like I've been fighting this last 20 pounds FOREVER. In all reality, I've probably been carrying this 20 around with me for my entire life essentially, so my body doesn't know HOW to get rid of it.

As far as the cardio - I suck at it. You just gotta start doing it. When I started, I had the mentality that I wasn't going to be able to last long if I pushed myself, so I just got on a bike and set it so low I knew I could go forever and I went for ....well,....forever. After a few days I could do a little more and then I started challenging and in just a couple weeks I was pushing harder and harder (which is probably my mistake too). You can build it faster.

HIT4ME, youre wrong, in a couple ways. #1, youre not quitting if its just a break, and a well deserved break at that, youre already saying youll be back. #2, your work is nothing less than impressive, so youve come far enough in your journey that you can say...detour. Brother, I want you to know that you are pretty much the reason that taking a break was so hard for me. You started off bumpy and had the resolve to turn it around and I really admire that and wanted to do that myself. And I still do and I will be back at it in no time.

I want everyone here to know how humbling this is - because you guys all push me and motivate me and everyone keeps telling me how hard I work but they don't see that I am doing it because of what I see in everyone else here.

This challenge is extreme - 3 pounds in a week for 6 weeks. It is not easy by any means, but I think it is doable. I am not upset at "failing" because failing is just part of succeeding. I'm actually not all that upset, I just need rest, no one is unbreakable (except Bruce Willis). I think one of the great things this thread can bring out is a log of how many people try this, what failures come, and then to see how we all respond to that and fight back. In my case, I quit (haha) - but I will be back. And I will be better. Like you said, detour. And because of everyone here, and my feeling like we are all part of something, it is actually harder to NOT come back than to come back. If I was in this on my own, it would be easy to quit on myself.

HIT4ME you rock. Nothing more needs to be said. No one here questions your dedication or abilities. We're all 100% sure that you'll return and crush it. Take whatever time you need, get back when you're ready.

Thanks brother. You rock too. Another example of not quitting. Injuries, set backs, you take them and just keep rolling. I'm hoping to learn from that example and carry forward in a week or so.

Wise words. But I'm a little insane ....haha. I will be brutal when I come back but more calculated. I'm already kind of looking to get back at it, which is a good sign I think....but I think a week off is probably best. I kind of expect that in another day i'll start thinking, "Get back on the horse" - but then I'm just going to exhaust myself again. Something unusual is going on with my body right now and I just need to feed it and rest.

On a plus note, I am lifting again and somehow, despite the deficit and insane cardio, I am still gaining strength - coming out of my deconditioning phase getting extra reps/more weight on just about everything in the 15 rep range. Doesn't help my overtraining philosophies necessarily, haha.

Turn it up man. Love to see everyone in here working so hard.

Been doing pretty good lately for the exception of some yellow cake with chocolate icing last night. Wife made it for my birthday so I needed to eat it, and I don't regret it . Decided to try and lift today despite the broken finger and it went ok I guess. Cant seem to grip some things as well or lift as much on others because I dont use the one finger when gripping , bit I got done what I could. Ive also dropped protein shakes out. I have a scoop of weigh every day but put it im MY yougurt with PB2 for breakfast. We'll see how that goes
Wide grip pullup
Sets of 12,8,8,4

Bent over DBrows
80x20
80x12
80x10, couldn't grip anything bigger

Low cable rows
140x15
160x10
170x8

Tried deadlifts, not happening, hurt the finger like h3ll

Same with bent over Barbell rows...D@MNIT!!!

Few more sets of pullups

Cant seem to grip some things as well or lift as much on others because I dont use the one finger when gripping , bit I got done what I could. Ive also dropped protein shakes out. I have a scoop of weigh every day but put it im MY yougurt with PB2 for breakfast. We'll see how that goes
Wide grip pullup
Sets of 12,8,8,4

Bent over DBrows
80x20
80x12
80x10, couldn't grip anything bigger

Low cable rows
140x15
160x10
170x8

Tried deadlifts, not happening, hurt the finger like h3ll

Same with bent over Barbell rows...D@MNIT!!!

Few more sets of pullups

Happy Birthday, and I think that's a valid excuse for a cheat, IMO. I mean, there is cake. Come on.

If you are deadlifting with a bad finger, straps should be employed. I go through periods where I love using straps, then periods where I tell myself they are a crutch and make me weak - but your grip is OFTEN the weak point and with an injured hand you don't want to pull a muscle because your grip failed and you hurt yourself. Straps could be a huge help. Or just avoid them until you're healed, which is maybe smarter...but I'm not always smart.

I believe you are, you just doubt yourself too much. I tried straps, its just not going to happen just yet, its only been a few days though. And its the joint at the tip of the finger, so I bend the whole thing, but that part, so no strength in it. Ill stay away from a few things for a bit, but now I know I can still do several lifts, so game on!!

LOL, no doubt my man. I am smart enough to know that what I'm about to pull isn't always the smartest path. But sometimes smart isn't the best way either. Sometimes you just gotta be "**** and Balls". (plus I said I'm not "always" smart - which shows arrogance, since it implies there are times when I am smart - it's a manipulative tactic)

I had a friend who I used to call the hurricane. He worked in construction and would help me when I had projects. He'd come into the room and I'd explain that I wanted this wall removed....and he would nod and I would go, "Let me go get us some drinks before we start"....I'd walk into the next room, come back with 2 drinks, and the wall would be gone. He didn't think it through. He just DID.

Sometimes you gotta plan and think and do it strategically. Sometimes, you just gotta do.

HIT4ME, Thats great that you're taking a break.. I knew you needed to take a break weeks ago, because of the hardcore dieting and workout regime you was preforming.. You will come back Strong and destroy the word called fat.. enjoy your break bro, because you deserve it..

Tried the "Wicked Pre" and the results are in. Overall I think this one is not for me.
Super Stimmed on it, and that was leaving out my Incinderine, and Coffee this morning!
