?Guys, sorry I didn't check in. The wheels completely came off the wagon yesterday. As MrKleen pointed out, pushing to the limits has its, errr, limits.
I've been through brain fog and hunger, and all kinds of things before, but yesterday was unlike anything I've ever gone through. I woke up with hunger, and was totally exhausted. My brain fog had me completely disconnected and just getting through the work day was a chore. The drive to eat, not even out of hunger, just like - cravings for sugar and food of all kinds, was just insane. Totally animalistic. I had to drive an hour away and when I got there it was to the point where I thought, "I can't drive back like this, I need something" - and I went for Wendys because it was in the middle of nowhere and that was all there really was. And I felt great. For 15 minutes. Then it came back. All I wanted to do all day was eat and sleep. So I gave in. I probably ate almost 4,000 calories total. And I wasn't even feeling full. And I wasn't feeling guilty. It was a really crazy feeling.
Today, I feel much better, renewed, ready to go. I slept through my morning cardio, and my weigh in was horrific - I gained almost 7 pounds!!! Obviously a lot of water, and I can tell it's water. What is re-assuring is I had some signs of definition coming through that I've never had before, particularly veins in my biceps and lower abs, and they are still their despite the obvious bloating going on. I guess after 5 months of dieting and over 4 weeks of very extreme dieting/cardio, we could all see this coming. This is why it's a marathon and not a race....except this challenge is a race.
But I'm getting back at this today. Had a protein shake in coffee this morning. I'm considering throwing in some MCTs and upping the calories by a couple hundred a day. I know a lot of this is that I've been doing INSANE levels of cardio (I mean, I even had a dream about riding the bike last night and being so tired I couldn't move the pedals) - but part of that is that I'm not used to the cardio and I haven't given myself a chance to adapt to the change. I'd like to be able to get used to doing 1.5-2 hours/day of cardio because I believe I could start waking up early, do the cardio, and increase my caloric expenditure over time so that I'm in the 3000-3500 calorie/day range and can actually eat a little more and not worry. Even an hour a day would probably be a good habit.
At any rate, I'm going to keep pushing to the end of this and go out fighting, but I am finding it funny that most people say, "You shouldn't lose more than 2 pounds per week" - yeah, if you're within 30 pounds of your weight, you shouldn't be so concerned. 2 pounds/week is harder than it looks at that point! haha.
Only a hiccup and maybe your body really needed it. No biggie for a fighter like you!
You mean this isn't turning it up already?I will be turn it up come November 1. Due to Thanksgiving dinner on November 24.. lol
