The former is what is in Androvar as well as various other andro products available today. The latter is from LGI Stano, which is no longer available, as I assume it was part of the ban? Anyway, are there major differences between the two compounds that would make sense to not combine them?

They are similar if not the same.

If I remember correctly, neither compound or nomenclature was part of that 2014/15 ban.
