23 Weeks out - How will you guys approach it with Supplements

Hey guys, I'm about 23 weeks away from my first comp, will be competing in male fitness category but plan to move up to muscle category next time.

So with 23 weeks away I'm sitting at 92kg, my diet is spot on and want to be around 83-85kg for comp. I want to hit 80-82kg there abouts within 10-12 weeks, which leaves me with another 10 or so weeks spare.

What would you guys do? Would there be room for a lean bulk?

And what type of supplements would you guys stack? Im not concerned about pre workout and Bcaa, protein

cheers

That's tough, 23 weeks is a bit long for a show prep; but it really doesn't give you enough time to do a significant lean bulk. You might want to consider a recomp or very moderate lean bulk for the next 4-6 weeks, and then begin dieting down.

Also, since this is your first show, I would allot yourself a bit more time for prep. I would also anticipate having to lose a bit more than 10kg - it's always better to underestimate your stage weight and have more time than to overestimate and not be lean enough on show day. Most competitors end up losing an extra bit of weight if they have the time to improve their level on leanness and conditioning.

As a supplement strategy for a short recomp or lean bulk, I would check out Alphamax XT. It's a very comprehensive product that can help boost natural test levels, improve recovery, and limit cortisol and estrogen. It also contains forskolin which is a great ingredient to support improved body composition. Alphamax XT would also be a great product to continue taking as you begin dieting. If you chose to do a 4-6 week recomp, you could begin your diet and finish out an 8 week cycle of Alphamax XT to kick off the prep.

For thermogenics and fat burners while dieting, EC always seems to be the go-to for show prep. Check with the show division to see if ephedrine is allowed though (assuming you're entering a natural show). For your first prep I would keep it simple. Allow your training and nutrition to do the work and stay consistent and focused

If you want to lean bulk, you could try this Como...

CEL M-Test
CEL EpiPlex
SNS Xgels

If you want to just cut, you could try this layout...

SNS TTA-500
SNS Yohimbine 2.5
CEL EpiPlex

What's your current BF%? You're at 202lbs now, want to drop to 176lbs, then go back up to 187lbs? I don't compete, but that's not how I've ever heard of it being done (then again, I never heard of male fitness and muscle categories? Are you doing some sort of fitness "floor" routine?) Most would add as much muscle as possible up to the point that they knew they needed to start cutting - right up to the comp. If you try to add *just* muscle with some type of minimalist "lean bulk" - you'll just spin your wheels IMO. Mike Israetel recommends 0.5-1% of your body weight added each week - this will include some fat - so you obviously don't want to be doing even that in a prep. You should know how long it takes you to drop x amount of fat on a weekly basis - just "gain phase" until that point (0.5-1% BW/Week), then cut doing the usual shjt - kcal deificit, Caffeine, Ephedrine, Yohimbine, Forskolin, etc.... dial in Sodium and Potassium intake, and maybe try a natural diuretic like Dandelion? (I assume you are all natty).

Alphamax XT was great when I did a bulk. Really enjoyed that stuff. Havent touched any boosters since I finished a bottle around Christmas and only been taking basics like bcaa, preworkout non and stimulate versions since then too.

Ill look into Alphamax XT again.

Ive got unopen bottles of OL Assass1nate, Super-7 and Forslean that I plan on taking down the track.
Noticed I have an unopened bottle of Erase Pro+ as well.

Whats this transdermal stuff I keep seeing on the forums mainly OL products?

If you enjoyed Alphamax XT on a bulk, I would definitely experiment with it on a cut as well. You could always stack it with Forslean, but Alphamax XT already contains forskolin which can be very beneficial while dieting. With 23 weeks, you could start with 8 weeks of Alphamax XT and then switch to Erase Pro+ toward the end of your diet - both solid products.

Transdermals can help slightly with spot reduction. I would take a look at the Evomuse line of transdermal products for fat loss - Eviscerate is a great product if you are approaching the end of a cut. I haven't used it yet, but I've read nothing but good feedback on Supernova as well
