Jags need to cut Bortles and sign kaep

As a Jags fan, I will say "maybe" to that. Bortles is garbage and Henne is old and at his ceiling. I would personally like to see Brandon Allen get a REAL shot as he has been pretty great when he has touched the field this year (albeit against bench warmers). Kaep would require us to change the playbook to fit his style and that might be a lot for a team that just hasn't been very good. I would like to see Allen get a shot and then if it doesn't work, draft for a stud this next draft.

But I'd live with Kaep. I think he has talent for sure and don't give a crap about the political stuff. I don't hold that against him.

You sound like a Browns fan with wanting to cut your first round draft pick, especially at the QB Position :)

Certainly not a browns fan lol. I'm not a big Kaep fan, I just think he's better than a few QBs currently projected to start. I view it all for fantasy football purposes. I'd never start Henne but Kaep can get points! Lol

Kaep's days were numbered before the political stuff. I think he knew it too. NFL defenses adapted very quickly to QBs like him. Where's Chip Kelly? Keep the college garbage in college.

This isn't entirely true. Teams didn't really adapt to him more so than everything around him changed. He led the 49ers to a Super Bowl. Harbaugh is fired. Willis retires. Borland retires. Half the team leaves. New coach. New offense. Fired after a year. New coach. New offense. Fired after a year. Fired GM.

The 49ers are a bigger dumpster fire than Kaep. I don't attribute his down seasons to him sucking. He was injured, on a team void of talent, with a crappy, unstable front office.

You can say the same for Jay Cutler then. Jay is better than Kaep, Glennon, etc. However he had constant changing O Lines, OCs, QB coaches, etc.

Cutler has a much larger sample size- but yes, the bears are trash. Glennon is young and showed promise with Bucs. If i'm rebuilding, I'd take a flier on the young guy with upside than the guy you know what you're getting (especially if Gase isn't my OC/HC)

replace trash with more trash? Good thing next year's draft will be loaded with QB talent.

Jets, Jags, Bills should all be in the market for one.

He gives them a better chance to win this season, I'm not saying sign him long term. 1 year deal and he's more entertaining to watch. I hate him tho since he ran all around the packers years ago

want entertaining, sign Tebow :)

honestly a team like the Jags are best off just bottoming out this year and drafting Sam Darnold or Josh Allen.

you say Darnold will be a bust and suggest Jackson.

Jackson will wash out of the NFL in 4 years.

Name one starting QB from USC, ever. You can't. You can't name one from USC, Alabama, Texas, Florida, etc. The top 8 QB schools rarely produce NFL QBs.

Not that it proves Darnold will pan out, but Carson Palmer has held onto a starting spot in Arizona for years despite a lot of bad luck and injuries. Your point still stands but I figure I'd give one USC guy props. Sanchez made two AFC Championships, but the Jets kind of did that DESPITE him. Killer defense and running game those years. Haha.

Touché on Palmer. Forgot about him. Actually like him.

I hate Colin Cowherd almost as much as I hate Chris Collinsworth (maybe it's a Colin thing) but give this a listen.

USC i do believe still have the most NFL QBs in the league, other than Palmer, not of them are very good, but they get there (kessler, butt fumble, cassel).

as a side note i can name 4 MSU QBs in the nfl, Cook, Stanton, Cousins, and Hoyer.

Cal has Groff (talk about bust) and Rodgers.

Is there a single Alabama, Florida, or Texas QB in the league, i got nothing off the top of my head.

and Texas AM pulling Kellen Mond and Texas Tech having the best passing game year in and year out are bigger draws for HS recruits than Texas now.

i think the sample size on Darnold is too small to tell how good of a pro he'll be.

Colin Cowherd is the worse!

Bama has McCarron, who is the backup for the Bengals. He actually did decent when he had to step in during the Playoffs against Pitt. Cincy won that before Cincy's defense gifted Pitt 30 yards worth of penalty yards on the final play and put a pretty bow on the game as they gave it to them.

Florida has no one (unless you count Cam Newton's 1 year there before getting kicked out for stealing a laptop) and I definitely can't think of a Texas QB either.

2017 NFL Draft & Season Chat Thread

Well the last 2 texas QBs have been Colt Mccoy and Vince Young i believe. I know VY is in Canada and I think McCoy got cut last year by the Redskins, im unsure if anyone picked him up for camp this year or not though.

-Pats receiver Julian Edelman and chiefs RB Spencer Ware both suffered knee injuries. Edleman's has been confirmed as an ACL tear. Ware's is being described as a 'sprain' (PCL) right now.

Big fan of the Brissett trade. The Colts have been shopping Dorsett for a while now the Colts have a QB not named Toziel (will probably still start week 1) til Luck gets back. Im hoping around week 3 or 4 for Luck.
